Dunster, this came out stunning, in spite of your problems. The quilting is the "icing on the cake". I don't know how you quilt on black, but it came out amazing. Do you side light it to see the 3D effect of the quilting, rather than light from above? I did one and really struggled to see where I had been. Re: kits. I have bought many and fortunately have had more than enough fabric to finish, so was sorry to hear your struggles and frustration with Keepsake and Kaufman. Like someone said, "Shame on them."

that is lovely. I downloaded the pattern ages ago with plans to use my Stonehenge fabrics, but haven't got to it yet. Regarding kits in general, when I do buy a kit it's usually for the fabric, not the pattern. I did purchase and make Tula Pink's solar flare kit. There was so much extra fabric I also made a wall hanging and still have large pieces of fabric left.

Dunster, that's spectacular! Sorry you had problems along the way but now you have a real beauty!
Speaking of kits- I bought a few from Craftsy years ago as well and they were nice. I've never bought from any other place. Not really interested.

Wonderful finish! I agree about preferring to pick my own fabrics, but sometimes a quilt is just "it".. But I've had the opposite problem -- too much fabric. I did the Botanical Magic BOM from Keepsake (still to be quilted ), and have LOTS of leftovers. Guess because it was a BOM, they gave you yardage for each installment.

Anyway, I love your quilt and your quilting is wonderful. Quilting on black is a PITA, but it looks so cool when it's done!

What a fabulous quilt Dunster, the whole thing is just eyepopping. Very sorry for the problems you experienced while making it, but boy did you do justice to the pattern and fabrics with your quilting.

Beautiful quilt, Dunster. I've never bought kits for those reasons. I kind of like picking out my own fabrics and making it really "mine". Plus I always buy more than is necessary so that I don't have to stress about cutting mistakes or deciding to change something. Yours did come out beautifully though.
