Default Need a laugh this evening?

I was just watching a show on the Discovery channel when the weirdest commercial I have ever heard came on. It was a promotion for AARP members to get ticket deals on the upcoming Rolling Stones concert tour!!!! Now I have heard everything. Does that tell you how old those band members are that they are targeting AARP members? haha Do you suppose instead of the heavy drugs that they used to take they are now into Viagra?

That's good, they probably do need them.

Never was a fan of big rock band music. All I heard was noise and screaming high notes. I did though like most of Queen's music but not enough to buy tickets.

The same add showed in my Facebook page. Made me smile. Targeted advertising at its silliest. Guess we are the ones or at least the age group that made them famous. But can you picture the crowd making its way into the venue. Walkers, canes, and periodic pauses to turn down hearing aids and arguments about the number of handicapped parking spaces. And the lines at the restrooms! Yah, yah I know not all seniors are falling apart, but many are just "not quite" what they were 50 years ago when they flocked to see the Stones. It does make a funny picture. Maybe they ticket holders can take their grandchildren to help them along. A nice grandparent and grandchild evening out. Tee-Hee-Hee!

As a matter of fact, at the last concert we attended (yes we are 'old' and love classic Rock--think Elton John, Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, The Beatles, Aerosmith, etc--altho never personally a fan of The Rolling Stones) we were happy to see a variety of ages, including families of what looked like 3 generations. We have tickets to see the Eagles in March. I am very excited!

I know plenty of people - my husband included - who would probably love to see it. Me? Definitely not. I could never understand how they became so famous, the singing is, IMO, horrific. As Onebyone describes it - screaming.

Now, The Eagles, I would enjoy - their "Long Goodbye" tour has lots of dates coming up, but with venues of over 15,000 people, I'm going to pass on that as well. I've never been a fan of huge crowds, less so as I age.
