Plan mailing on Monday. Then post office has 7 days to deliver on birthday.

Here's what I've been working on today. It needs a couple more columns added on and it will be ready to quilt, but I've used up my best green, blue and purple candies. Going to have to cut some scraps!

So scrappy but still soothing. Beautiful choices, Sewbiz.

Sewbiz, I really like that pattern. Will have to keep it in mind for the future.

Thanks. In retrospect, I wish I had inserted a 1" sash of white between each column, so the colors wouldn't be so close together. I thought about ripping out those seams and doing it, but they have very small stitches and the chance of poking holes would be great. So I'll just have to love it as it is!

It is beautiful, sewbizgirl! Lovely colors and I know your quilting is going to make it really special. You're going to be the next Bonnie Hunter in pattern making!

Oh no.... It's actually someone else's pattern that I knocked off from the photo. (blush). I'm glad you like it, tho.

Question for those of you who have quilted appliquéd blocks, do you quilt over the appliqué or around it. I hate the thought of marring the look of the appliqué but I do want it to withstand use. Suggestions appreciated!

I have the tendency to go over appliqués which don’t have heavy or tight stitching around. I would only do this on my LA. I have also heard of echo stitched outside and a little inside appliqué piece. Or you can do a little art quilting stitches to enhance the appliqué design. Just some suggestions.

SBG = if you decide you could not live with your scrappy, just mail it my way. I would get it a great home. Lol. I really like your quilt. I wouldn’t change anything.

I mailed my candies a few days ago. The birthday girl should receive it soon!
