Baby Tripp’s quilt
Hello quilting friends!
It’s been a long time since I had a finished quilt to post. We have moved again and the sewing room is low priority. Tripp decided to make his appearance early and so we needed to get this on finished despite not having a proper space for quilting and my quilter frame missing a key part.
The backing fabric was on clearance and I thought it would make a perfect backing for a baby boy. Rather than dig through boxes of stash I decided to buy all the fabrics on the spot and used the colors in the back to guide me. I like the “Land of the Lost vibe of these fabrics.
My receipt was time stamped 6:27pm. I stopped for gas, picked up a prescription, went home and ate dinner, then started pressing fabric. I finished the top at 12:34am. I figure it took about 5 hours to finish the top. I quilted in straight-ish lines on my DSM and applied the binding yesterday. I attach bindings by machine but was out of practice and missed the binding on the front in several places so I had to go back and hand stitch the edges down. It was the first time I’ve done it and the stitches confirm it. However, I will not tell the baby or his parents, so hopefully it will be our little secret. 🤣
Thanks for looking.
