    Default Machine Fixed!

Hi Quilters! You may remember this thread I started
    https://www.quiltingboard.com/vbulle...s-t322230.html

We are so rural, that to find anyone to work on machines, is hours away. I lucked up! A couple of ladies I sew with, told me about a guy that used to have a machine shop, but retired and moved. However, they said he moved in the country in their area. I got his number and called Saturday before noon. He told me to bring my LA that afternoon and he would try to see about it Sunday afternoon. I picked up my LA Monday, after he got in from work at 5. Yes, he retired and went back to work doing something else. Anyway, he set the timing and made hook & needle adjustments. He was really good on his charges, too I thought, except for the $25 ‘test sew’. Anyway, I cut out and made/quilted these throw pillows for my granddaughter’s room to match her quilt I made a few years ago. Mom bought a new futon for Avery’s room and wanted these pillows for it. This was Cottage Joy fabrics ( loved the mason jars) and quilt was Double Slice by Missouri Star. Showing both sides of all pillows. The big shams I put the zipper and a flap on the yellow side. On the throw pillows I inserted the zipper in the bottom seam.
I’m just so relieved to have my machine fixed! I was in a slump, not wanting to start on anything really.

The dealer here charges a high test sew fee for long arms. Mostly for the time spent I would guess. Most shops don't itemize that fee but it is certainly added to the bill.

Yay! So happy for you. When our machines are happy, all seems right with the world!

Love your Double Slice quilt! That's one of my favorite patterns and I've made plenty of them. Love how you incorporated the design into the pillow shams. What a warm bedroom, full of love, these will make.

Yay! Nothing more agonizing than not being able to sew and finish up your beautiful work! And to find someone nearby to work on them is the icing on the cake, well done! Love your finishes!
