Elizabeth Hartman's Dinosaur Pattern??
I have a little boy that' loves dinosaurs so want to make him this pattern possibly. Is it paper pieces or just a lot of pieces for each block. Haven't been able to find any info on what type of pattern this is. I'm hoping paper pieced but lots of pieces will be find also. Just please tell me this isn't appliqued though, please, please.

The blocks are made entirely of squares and rectangles and everything is sewn using conventional patchwork techniques. No templates of paper piecing!

I don't think there is any applique. Even the tiny blocks are all pieced.

I read some of the reviews on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Elizabeth-Har.../dp/B08BHQMZ7C and one said
This pattern is well written and the pictures are really helpful. The one thing I struggled with is that the seam allowance is not 1/4 inch - it's a very scant 1/4 inch. If you don't know that (and the pattern doesn't tell you), then you will find yourself ripping seams most times because they just don't match.

I haven't done this pattern but I did Elizabeth Hartman's Dogs in Sweaters. There are many small pieces and it takes a lot of accuracy and consistency. I used a seam guide and it went well. I thought the pattern was well written with good illustraions. I did need to work on it when I didn't have any distractions though. I strongly suggest doing a test block with scrap fabric first.

I use panels for my grands quilts. They change their love of characters often. They each have a nice bed quilt I made so the play quilts are for fun. I made one Elizabeth Hartman pattern. It takes patience in the cutting but simple to sew. Her patterns are constructed the way Pam Bono's patterns are.

Thanks all for your insight to this pattern. I couldn't or didn't see the back side to read how it was put together but now I know and I'll order the pattern so I can get started. This little guy is so cute as well as his sister who already has a quilt from me. I want to make it large enough to go on a toddler's bed so I may need to put more blocks in each row but that's okay. Hopefully this will use up some of my overly stuffed scrap bins.

I did the Social Sharks pattern and am currently working on Cats in Pajamas. Her patterns uses cut pieces (sometimes very small) to create her designs. The teeth on the sharks was the hardest part to get right (I had to pick out twice) but her instructions are in a booklet form and she creates the block in well thought out format. Just take it step by step and do 1 block at a time, also suggest that you make all the right facing at a time and then all the left facing to avoid confusion.
