I agree that I think Wal-Mart is making a mistake in doing away with the material dept. Not all people have the money to go to a quilt store all the time. Wal-Mart used to have some pretty nice material and a fair price. I think that Sam Walten would be turning over in his grave if he knew how his family has handle his business, that he created for the lower income families of America. He cared about the people, but most today just think about how much money they can make and are never satisfied with what they have. Our new Wal-Mart in Lebanon, Ind. has some fat quarters and a few other sewing notions. Not much though.

used to work there and i think as they remodel the walmarts they are going to discontinue the fabrics. when ours remodeled they were supposed to do away with the crafts dept but decided to keep it just downsize it now they just have mainly jewelry stuff and kids crafts and a little bit of sewing notions and yarn so of course that leaves me with good old joanns YEA!! (smirks and rolls eyes) but i am glad to see the st clairsville still carries fabric its not real close but better than nothing.

Just to let you know I called this number(1-800-Walmart) and very nicely let them know how I felt and lot of others on closing the fabric dept. The lady apologized and I told her I knew that she had nothing to do with the decision and she was very appreciative. She said it would be passed on to upper management.

Laval, Quebec in Centre Laval Shopping Center on Le Corbusier corner of St-Martin. They have a very nice sewing center with an excellent choice of fabric and accessories
