Default Quilts for the grands

img_20240507_191051899_hdr.jpgimg_20240507_181401528_hdr.jpg
I just finished the quilts for my two grandchildren this week. They are coming to visit this weekend and they will receive them then.
The flamingo, or as my granddaughter calls them, "Mingo" quilt is for her new room. I truly enjoyed making it and enjoyed watching the "Mingo" grow as I pieced the blocks and kept adding to make the front. It has all the colors I used to make her jelly roll rug that I gave her for her 6th birthday in February.
The Harley and flames quilt is a T-shirt quilt for my 7 year old grandson. I used my dad's shirts, my grandsons great grandpa to make the quilt. It was my very first t-shirt quilt. I've read all the horror stories about making a T-shirt quilt, but I was very careful, and used the interfacing one of my LQSs recommend, it worked perfect and I would definitely make another one. Next I will be making curtains for his new Harley room.

Love them! My new favorite quilt is the pixel quilt. I'm stealing your idea for background!! What size are your pixels?

I like them both! Tell us that haven’t made a tshirt quilt yet, what stabilizer was recommended? Also, a niece asked me to make her firefighter hubby a panel
quilt. Where did you find the flame fabric?
I am like some commenter above, the Mingo could be easily replicated, the pixels read like a graph. Very cute! You will be the best grandma for sure, this Mother’s Day weekend!
