rick rack?
I've seen a lot of cute blocks using rick rack, but am wondering if anyone has used it as part of the quilting?
I'm working on Stash Bandit's free pattern Disappearing 9 patch Jambalaya, altered a bit. Mine are 10" blocks with 64 pieces and Very scrappy. So I have a watch on ebay for a batch of old rickrack, in for scrappy, go all scrappy
we are on the road, visiting Kerrville TX this week, and even are meeting another quilter f rom here later today.

I'm not sure what you mean about quilting with rickrack.. I've used it in quilts (and prefer to have the ends encased in seams but not for the quilting. I would certainly boil any vintage trim you might find but feel pretty good about modern stock.
In my fish quilt I used the jumbo, didn't need to worry about color bleed. I sewed down both sides with a straight stitch.
I've used 1/2" white (poly) twice on two very different quilts in making fans what I call the Eleanor Burns Method. Halfway through is the 1/4" seam line, and it is already on the bias and helps turn the curves nicely. One was "Aunt Debbie Bleeds Blue" a sports quilt for an older lady, and the other was my Thanksiving themed top.

I think I'm allergic to rick rack. My mom made most of the my clothes when I was growing up and she went on a rick rack binge. Every piece of clothing i had had rick rack on it. I've never like rick rack since!
