    Default Finished Mystery Quilt

My friend talked me into doing this mystery quilt. It was designed to use up 2.5 in squares. I decided I would use the leftover aboriginal print fabric I had from a previous quilt. Like in most instances, I did not have enough scraps so did have to buy a few fat quarters, then some additional background fabric, then the print for the outside border and finally binding. So much for using up scraps HAHA!. At least I didn't have to buy backing fabric. Had that in my stash and used up more of the leftover background and prints from the front. Simple pattern that works with 2.5 in strips. Thanks for looking.

I had to laugh bc my husband thinks I should have enough stash to make a quilt but like you I still need to buy ‘something’ to make a quilt. I have had the rare occasion where nothing was purchased for a finish. I like your quilt. In fact I like most any quilt that chains but I really love your back!

It is great seeing another way to use those aboriginal quilt fabrics. Your quilt is lovely and the backing is very appealing! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for posting this! I bought those aboriginals about 2 years ago and then lost the concept of what I wanted to do with them. You have given me new ideas. I love the back too! I'd like to see the project you made them with originally too.

The fabric is gorgeous!! I am smiling at your description of using up scraps and then purchasing to fill in! The end result is beautiful and the back is fantastic!! Well Done.
