    Default Drunkards Path question.

    Good evening from the UK.
Firstly may I offer huge hugs to everyone in Florida and hope everyone is safe after nasty Milton.

I want to make a Drunkards Path block, - 6 inches, but I would like to make it by folding the curved seam back and sewing it down. I hope that makes sense and hopefully someone can help me. Thanks so much x

If that's what you want to do ... then do it!

If you're unsure about it ... the best way to feel more certain about that
is to try one or two, and figure out how you can make it work for you!

Look up tutorials by Annette Ornelas. She does what she calls peeled back. I think this may be what you are looking for

peeled back does sound like what she needs. seems like she would need extra fabric on the curves. Let us know if you find what you need.

Wouldn't several clippings around the curve help this method work?

Have just been searching out the peeled back method, - very innovative - so my previous comment wasn't worth making. Totally different.

I'm wondering if you are thinking about something similar to what is shown on this page http://sewnomadic.blogspot.com/2013/...-path.html?m=1
There is another way is to applique a circle on a square and then cut in quarters as seen at https://auntemsquilts.com/blog/drunkards-path-made-easy but unfortunately the link to the "perfect circle applique method" doesn't work. There are a couple of ways to make circle appliques one use fusible interfacing as shown at https://nancyzieman.com/blog/quiltin...cle-appliques/ and the other is with regular ingerfacing http://lmpoole.blogspot.com/2009/01/...-applique.html
There are several place that show how to sew the pieces and if you want to press toward the outside of the block, you would need to clip that edge of the seam.

Sounds like the Mexican Star method, where you fold a square diagonally, place it on top of another square, roll it down and sew it in place.

The process sounds very similar to the 10-minute block. https://youtu.be/ZbTHlGGKMPM?si=q5YyHOH9nIp4qCI0
