Default Case for Janome Memory Craft 6600

For those of you that use this machine what kind of case do you use?

    Thanks

Mine came with a hard plastic shell that slid over the machine and then you carried it by the handle on the machine. It worked well and I always liked it.

Did your new/used 6600 come with that? Or nothing?

That's interesting . . . my used came with nothing and in the instruction book there's no mention of case in the list of included parts. However, my other (smaller) Janome came with the type of hard plastic shell that you mention. I went to my LQS shop today (where they sell Janome machines) to ask about cases and she said this one does not come with a case.

No idea ... maybe some of the others will pop by tmro with more info.

A couple of thoughts ... Maybe for a period of time Janome included the shells with the 6600s? Or that a dealer made their own decision whether to include the shell in their store sales, thus affecting the price.

I did a quick search on eBay and the only 6600 machines I found had no hard shell cases. Only a soft slip on type. You might set up a search on eBay for 6600 machines. A hard shell case might show up.

I have purchased three 6600's one for DD and the other two for home and cabin. Love this workhorse!
None of them came with a plastic hard case. It was not an option for them at the time of purchase.

I have a Janome 6600 and don't have a case for it. My Janome 6600 doesn't go to retreats. It's almost too heavy for me to carry so when going to retreats/sew days, I have my Featherweight to take to those.

When I bought mine, the shop gave me a rolling case. It's wider than most others but truthfully, I find the whole package of case and machine heavy and awkward to load so I no longer take my machine anywhere but the shop for servicing.

I got my MC6600P about 14 years ago and it came with the plastic shell/cover/case (what ever you want to call it). I don't like the plastic case - my machine sits in its table all the time, and the case just gets in the way. Wish you lived close we could see if it fit your machine and if you even like it. I prefer the Tutto trolley for transporting my machine. All I have to do is fit it into the trolley then wheel it to where it goes. Also. it carries other supplies which the plastic case I never trusted to hold the weight of the machine. If you want a cover to keep the dust off - make one or buy the plastic version, so much easier to set aside than the case.
