Still working on Indigo Way and I'm determined to have it done before the end of the year .......... I do like the colors Bonnie is using for this mystery so I'll be jumping in! My stash has lots of neutrals and I have plenty of reds. The teals and aquas I should have enough but I don't really have the coral - melon. I'll have to doa deeper dive into my stash

Thanks Ice Blossom. I'm jumping in. I've already pulled the fabrics from my stash so won't be needing any purchases. Yay! I'm excited about the colors too. Like others, I'm still need to finish Indigo Way but getting close.

Ice Blossom, I so thankful that you are monitoring this mystery again this year. I'm in and have enough of all the colors in my stash...but may explore other combinations too. There are many talented quilters in this group....with awesome color variations so I'm waiting and watching for that. Have considered the darker background too, but that would mean having to go shopping.

So nice to see the interest in this project, welcome again to all.

Gemm, you get to define yourself anyway you want, but I think of you as a non-sewing participant. You often have good comments and suggestions for the rest of us. One of these years we will pull you into the project!

LI Diva, glad to have you join us. You mentioned in another thread about maybe doing this year's mystery with dark background. I think that would be wonderful! Look at her embroidery example for inspiration.

As for me, as much as I want to use my Civil War fabrics, this project is going to revolve around one of my thrift store buys. Looking at the tags I see I bought this fabric back in 2019 and I got a tremendous deal, about a dollar per yard. But I have been challenged in ideas for using it... so look out, it's time has come and stash will be reduced.

All my melon will be the one fabric with the mottled background and tulip motifs. The back of the quilt will be the coordinating stripe. I will probably use the colors in the stripe to help pick the aqua and red (so probably more blue or green and brick for the red), all my neutrals will be bright white on white. I just grew my white on white collection over the last year because I basically had none for Indigo Way and I was somewhat unhappy with how busy my Bonnie-style Neutrals were.

The first picture shows the two pieces, the second is a close up of the colors.

Beautiful fabric, Ice Blossom and such a steal at a dollar a yard. This is going to be a fun quilt this year.

I aways wait until one block is revealed then make the block. then the next and so on if different. This way I'm not cutting and sewing a hundred units at a time that I will have to use or waste. I can decide to make a small or large quilt or potholders. My favorite part of the mysteries is to see all the different fabric used in the finished quilts.

Easiest pull ever. I went with the colors I had yardage in. Plus, they make me happy. The coral looking fabric is more of a watermelon color. Lots of neutral scraps since the quilt has alot of neutrals.

I have ordered my kit for the latest Bonnie Hunter winter quilt from QuitedTwins. com Dade city Florida, and it will arrive shortly. I will attempt to start on it after I save all the instructions or as it happens or sew along with others. Have set up two sewing centers, on sunny days in the living room and on dark days in my sewing room with lots of light. This year I can see to thread the needle, which helps! Thanks for posting it here, I will be following along.

Yes, I had a grand plan to make this quilt with a dark background, and a cart full of beautiful fabric to make it happen.

But then I happened to walk past my fabric collection, which is admittedly not as impressive as many here have, and realised that in addition to a whole bolt of cream fabric, I have plenty of red, and a bit of coral. So back to the cart I went, ordered some supplemental coral and a length of turquoise, and will be doing it Bonnie’s way after all.

Probably just as well for my first stab at a BH mystery.
Would love to complete a quilt having LESS fabric in my stash rather than more 😜

I just spent a little bit of time playing with fabric. In going with the colors from my striped fabric, I'm going with more of a "soft green" than the aqua (the other choice from the fabric would be a true bright blue). I think I've pulled enough but will need to refine my choices a bit and make sure I have enough yardage.

Also, I think I've pulled enough brick-rust reds that will work but will again have to check if I've pulled enough yardage. There are several pieces I'd love to use but not enough contrast from my melon selection. My fabric has quite a bit of maize/golden yellow in it which tempts me to maybe change my melon to being red, and the melon to being yellow... so much stash and so many decisions!
