    Default Glue basting polyester batting?

I found a dark 100% polyester backing that has been in my closet for years. I quit using polyester years ago, but would like to use this, as I have a dark quilt I'm putting together. For those of you who baste with Elmer's glue, do you know if Elmer's will stick to a polyester batting? I've never tried it, as back-in-the-day when I was using exclusively polyester batts I was also hand basting everything. I don't want to get started on this project and then have everything come unglued while I'm machine quilting.

it will stick but only use little dots of. a friend of mine used too much on polyester batting and the blobs got hard. she broke a machine needle trying to sew through it.

Hmmm, maybe spray basting would be better? Not sure.

I would test it on a tiny quilt sandwich just to make sure. Let it dry overnight.

If you have hard globs of glue use a steam iron to dissolve them. Once back to liquid the blobs can be smooth away.

I glue baste all the time and use all types of batting. I thin the glue slightly and apply in a grid design, flatten with a damp sponge brush, smooth the backing over it and set with a warm iron. I have never had a problem with hard glue dots. I quilt on my HQ Sweet 16.
