I received my Secret Santa Package early in November. It came from NOLA 70122, but there is no name on the box and I haven't opened it yet. Thank you to my Secret Santa! I've been a patient girl! LOL I am sorry not to have posted this earlier, but I don't know who sent it!

Good morning Secret Santas!!! I suspect the box openings are going to bring lots of smiles today. Unfortunately, I don't get to open my box until next weekend. The long and short of it is that my husband came to me so I didn't have to go home to him this weekend.
A great big thank you to my Secret Santa ahead of time!

Confession time for me. I opened early. Yup. I had a trip booked that would have me away over the opening weekend. So, there was this really bad quilting day for me and I just turned off my machine and set aside everything to make room for opening my gift. And WOW, did it ever make me feel better. There was a bag of candy and I cracked into that right away and ate a bunch which made me feel even better.
mfay is the best Santa and anyone who is lucky enough to have her for Santa is lucky indeed. She treated me to a Hex'n'More ruler (I love rulers) all wrapped up in a luxurious scarf. FQs were yardages and in a matching collection that just happens to be a favourite of mine so it was fun to have some new colours added to what I have. And then the yummies - tea, chocolate and candy. (can you tell I ate some?) I wish I'd had the colour catchers earlier because I pre-washed some fabric and forgot to separate out one of the pieces to presoak in Retayne and it scattered splotches. Maybe I could have prevented those with the catchers. The Koala from Perth is sitting on the arm that raised my thread above the machine, looking very cute.
So grateful to Hav4Boys for organizing us and thankful to mfay for making opening day so much fun.
Merry Christmas to everyone!

@QuiltingPandaBear I am in a similar spot.Already dealing with long covid and fatigue, I had an unexpected surgery drop into my holiday season, can't use my arm to sew for awhile as I have a 4 inch incision in my chest. I don't know what will get done baking wise, all the handmade stuff had to be put away. All shopping done online as I don't feel up to going anywhere. I am trying so hard to just make the best of it, but after being sick all of last Christmas season I am so upset for another year of not being able to celebrate like I want to, or make that holiday magic for others. Hope things improve and you get to experience some of the joy along with the unending task list.

I had fun opening my package and finding out it was from logcabin82. She sent me the most adorable Christmas card, that plays music, a fun turtle toy for my dogs, Molly and Katie, batik fabric, chocolate, 2 home crafted ornaments, a box with assorted tea, and a handmade coin purse. Everything was nicely wrapped in Christmas paper. Thank you logcabin82. Your gifts and card were very thoughtful and appreciated by me. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones too.

@rumbols opening your SS pkg must have made yo u feel so much better. Quilting dragon and Panda bear hope everything gets better for you too. I may not have one to open yet, but reading the lovely comments Barbara made on opening her pkg has quite made my day. I really enjoyed choosing fabric for you and that it arrived before the postage strike

Thanks, m-fay. I did enjoy opening my box. Everything was wrapped in bright red Christmas paper. I have been petting ever since.
It has been a hard fall. Hubby in hospital, lost a cousin in September, and now another cousin on Dec 5th. Hubby is home and slowly recovering. I am still doing the grunt work around the house.
Quiltingdragon, I hear you and know your pain. I spent most of last year and the beginning of this year having multiple surgeries and long slow recoveries. Thought I was over everything and ready to enjoy my quilting and holidays this year. But it just keeps coming. Getting old is double hockey sticks. Hang in there, life will balance out and you will see joy. Let others do the grunt work for you this year.
Everyone, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

@quiltingdragon so sorry to hear about the unexpected surgery, I hope you are on the mend. I felt like last year the holidays got away from me a bit and I was dedicated to being ahead on schedule this year and life happened. I had worked so many hours I was able to take a full day off midweek and decorate the house! I was also out grocery shopping and opted to pickup a gingerbread cookie mix. If nothing else, I can make one holiday cookie from a mix this year. Baby steps and small achievements. Still looking for compromises so I can do the fun bits with less work.
