Tick, tick, tick. It is almost time to open our packages. Just for the fun of it I went searching for other "holidays" and celebrations on December 8th. Well, National Brownie day, Jumper Day (aka sweaters), Pretend to be a time traveler day and Lard day. So tomorrow while making a batch of brownies in your jumper, use lard to grease the pan while pretending to time travel. Don't travel too far or too long though, you might burn the brownies.

I won’t be opening mine today because dad is in the ER because of Parkinson’s psychosis. They’re keeping him and we were there for over 11 hours yesterday, and going back today. I’d like to open my gifts when I’m not so exhausted and stressed.

@LogCabin82 I’m deeply saddened to hear about your dad, hang in there. I think you are right to save your opening for when you are ready to appreciate a spot of happiness or distraction, instead of doing it out of obligation. Sending virtual hugs

I opened my ornaments today from @Nonnie4 ! Two adorable yo-yo ornaments that are already gracing the tree. Thank you Nonnie4, they are so cute. I am pretty obsessed with this tree.

Quiltingpandabear, your yo-you decorations are too cute. Now why didn't I think of those? I particularly like the tree too.

Nonnie4, would you mind posting the sizes of the cut circles you used, so we could make some too. Terrific ideas. I like the little bell at the bottom. When I was google searching for the trees many of them had a dowel up the center or had old wooden spools on the bottom. I like the little bell for hanging on a Christmas tree.

I have to admit to you gals I opened my package when it came. I wanted to see who it was that sent to me. I'll tell you why. THis lovely lady sent this package twice because I made a typo on my own address and she had to mail it twice. I have offered to send the extra postage to her. After all it was my mistake. I am so very sorry.
Here is a picture of the gingerbread ornaments she sent to me. Thank you RoseIrish.

I am so sorry to hear of your father's illness logcabin. I am sure all of us pray he is on the mend soon.

Below is a photo of ZuZu inspecting all the charming little contents of my Ornament Swap package. A wool cat with wire wings, wool work snowman, a fabric bag made of Christmas fabric, two cuts of Santa fabric, and several little organza bags each with treats and encouragements. One little ornament missed the photo but the reindeer was hanging on my tree.

How did you know, RedGarnett22, that my spare bathroom is called the cat bathroom and is currently decorated with my tree decorations that follow the theme of "cat". The gray kitty with the wire wings is proudly hanging on the artificial pine garland in the bathroom with an ever growing collection of kitty decorations. Purrrfect! Thank you for all of the sweet little treats and multiple ornaments. This swap is such a nice kick off to the Christmas season since it is always a true surprise.

After all that chatter, I forgot the photo. Here 'tis.

I am so very glad you like the kitty angel. It looks a lot like my little kitty that is heaven. His name was sampson. He was such a character! He had a good long life and everyone I knew had a cute story to tell about him to tell.
    Enjoy your holidays, WMUTeach,

    Default Greetings from NC

Sorry to be a day late. Hubby’s birthday was yesterday and I forgot. I received 4 lovely folded stars from Nelco. I have tried these a few times but they never came out this crisp and lovely. Also lots of great fabric and when I was setting it out for the pic, some candy fell out! Many thanks for a great swap.
