2025 Birthday Candy Swap - 2.5" Squares
#261
I did the merry mayhem quilt too although it's a bit more modest than Quossum's and not quilted yet. I ended up going with a blue border and Quossum has me thinking about how to quilt it -- her "squares" quilting is so cool! Some candies from last year made it into this quilt although I admit to cutting up my own stuff too.

Well I missed the 25th-but will post my pics today. I have been working on creating a transformation dress for my daughter who got the lead as Cinderella in her HS musical Cinderella. A transformation dress is on that looks like one dress, but then the outer dress comes apart drops down under another dress. Rather hard to explain but I’m sure everyone’s friend GOOGLE can assist in a better description.
I am hand piecing each person’s envelope of squares from the 2024 swap-my first one-into the Gramma’s Lattice pattern. I have 3 envelopes done, and am loving how they have come out. This will be a work of love to hand piece then hand quilt. Hope to finish prior to my birthday and arrival of the 2025 envelopes.

Congratulations to both of the Merry Mayhem quilt makers, Quozzum and Pamelor. Following the mystery and using what was on hand with some additions from stash make for a pair of lovely versions AND you used some of your 2.5's from our swap. Horrah!
I finished adding the binding to the turquoise baby quilt today. I used a white-on-white scrap and Ta-Da it is now done and ready to wait for a new owner through Project Linus.

@pamelor I’m utterly jealous of your Merry Mayhem quilt, the way you extended the pinwheels into the outer border with some additional HST’s! The pattern on yours stands out so well, and your colors are amazing!
As always, it’s such a pleasure to see what everyone is working on! I’m making good progress on my UFO list, so much that I let myself start a new one: some strings for an ender/leader project.

Heather, thank you for posting. Who knew our candies would be in a play all the way across the country. I recognize mine!
Quossum, your quilt is gorgeous. Your quilt is inspiring me to try squares in FMQ next. I thought the back looked pretty cool, too.

Heather, I love your idea, I have "played around" with that idea for years. I do have one quilt in my UFO basket that is based on that idea. I may just have to move it up to February to make some progress for 2.5 day. The pattern is call "Star Trails", deigned by Bright Corner. Star Trails I started it two years ago and keep putting off finishing. Each row of star trail is from one swapper's collection to me.
Hey, all, keep posting 2.5 efforts and dreams. Inspiration is always welcome.
