This is a block using one of my nursery themes. We don’t know the sex of this little peanut so no pink and very little blue. It’s not going to be easy picking colors for this one. I would prefer the block not read dark but light and airy. Also with the size of the critters simpler blocks with larger pieces of the fabric would probably work out best. I did send fabric swatch ideas. My granddaughter who is having the baby this quilt will go to loves all animals. One of her degrees was in zoology and she worked at the zoo for about 5 years

What did I do today?......I packed my Boom fabric in it big bag after adding my "request" note in each envelope. Now, just need to put it the mailing bag. I added the binding to a birthday swap baby quilt, will the machine part. I will hand stitch it to the back tomorrow. Then off I went to have birthday dinner with my granddaughter and to see "Descendants the Musical" at a local high school. She has been a "Descendants" fan since Disney made the movies. She is one of the granddtwins. I haven't settled on an evening out with her brother yet, but I have a few weeks leeway. I have stopped buying gifts for the grands that are close by because 1). they don't need stuff and 2) I like spending time with them one on one. So it is often an event and dinner.

Tomorrow I will continue to work on UFO's after church since my post church event was cancelled. It is warmer here, upper 20's but the wind is nasty and projected to be 40 + MPH tomorrow. Looks like online church for me with a cup of tea and a quilt on my lap. No reason to take chances with driving in blowing snow.

Janice, you and hubby have such a heart for your pups. Even when you feel crappy, you are out "collecting samples", dealing with special doggy diets and doggy disabilities all with caring hearts.

Package in the mail on Monday and will forward the needed info

Terriamn, I thought I added that block but obviously I didn’t. Will do it shortly. Thanks for the heads up.

WMUTeach, our pets are always put first since they are dependent upon us. Ernie is a real gem, and deserves the best we can give him. We’ve never had such a small, old dog. He should probably have his bad eye removed but the surgery will have a three week recovery and is risky for him with his other problems. We’ve opted against it and are hoping we’ve made the right decision. I fret as much about him as I did with my children. lol.

Stars, your packages are beginning to hit my informed delivery. Looks like several are on the way already. Woo hoo!

Annaquilts, that was our sweet Mabel. She didn't like being photographed so I have very few pictures of her. She was such a sweetie and I still miss her.
We all love cats and have had 13 during our marriage! Love doggies too.

Yes, the pets depend on us. I do like the caring of them, especially since the "children" are adults now. I understand the decision, not to subject your fragile little dog to such surgery right now. I had to do that, with my little Nina, 6-7 lbs., too and eventually, she passed last April. I still choke up when I think of her.

My package should be winging its way over to you.

Janice, my soulmate dog was hubby’s and mine first pet. Brittany was a very mischievous boxer. Oh my that dog was naughty but we loved her to death. She lived to be 10 pretty old for a Boxer, they are very prone to cancer. We were shocked at the huge incision they made in her and how long she was incapacitate. We changed vets after that and told the new vet we would never agree to another surgery. Years later our vet said I’m sorry but she really needs surgery again. She has tumors in her throat and won’t be able to eat as they grow. Extremely reluctantly we agreed. The day before her scheduled surgery she was outside with my daughter and our rotweillor and gave a bark, collapsed and passed. The rotti just sat next to her howling. So sad but very thankful she didn’t have to have the next surgery. They are so special and I sure miss not having a pet

Looks like I'm needing to order a new iron. My Oliso gave up the ghost on me. DS had two irons in the house when we moved in so I tried using them. Gave up on the shark as the temp control button was right where I'd put my hand and I kept accidentally turning it way down while I was ironing. I also didn't like that I had to hit the button 6 times every time I wanted it to start up again. I think I know why DD left it here when she moved out 7 years ago! The second iron is a sunbeam that DS bought way back when he had to wear dress cloths to the office. That one is working out OK - and I've only left it bottom down a few times and not long enough to scorch my ironing board yet . . . Both of those irons are quite a bit smaller and lighter than the Oliso. I have to put a lot more pressure down to get the same results.

Some day I'd like to get a professional quality steam iron, but I don't have any space for it right now.

Terriamn, your Brittany is like my Ripley: the ultimate pup. Ernie quickly stole our hearts but Ripley remains the love of our lives as far as pets are concerned. (Today is 8 months since she died.) It’s been a rough day but Ernie does bring us joy. I hope we’re making the right decision for him.

Macybaby, I’m on the second iron of my adult life. Both were Black and Deckers. Inexpensive but long working but then I don’t use water in my irons.

WMUtrach I am with you about no gifts. We want experiences. I spend big time when we are together. Otherwise I give a gift like annual pass to museum/water park or concert/live play tickets. Something to remember.

Still windy here so about 15 of us squeezed into a motorhome for church. Two played guitars and led worship and we have a Pastor in the group who taught.

Did some sewing but beach called so took a good barefoot walk with our dog. She loves water but won’t go in without permission- and I didn’t give it as we don’t have anywhere to wash her off!
