Well cowboy wife is pretty self expanatory. My husband is a cowboy. Well, a horse trainer really but most people think that's the same thing!

At last I gathered the strength of character to brave the cold and load all the little kiddos into the van and make my way down to the post office. My squishy is flying it's way to our February birthday girl!

I am preparing the backing and batting for a candy quilt from past years. I love looking at all the sweet charms!

Also just finished quilting my purple color blocks. Life got in the way over the weekend. I’m going to set them aside and work on another quilt for a while. My square in a square. Then it’s onto Boom blocks!

Wowzers,JENNR8R, that is a lot of 2.5's. From a distance it looks like a cross stitch pattern. I saved the photo as inspiration for another quilt later this year. That would be terrific as a scrappy red/white/blue quilt.

I went to the post office today and mailed the February envelope! Let's see if it makes it way up the mountain, through the snow, and downed tree lined roads to make it of our Birthday Swapper Janice, on time.

I don’t know, sometimes I think my post office is using a turtle to deliver the candies I send. 🐢

I have been paying attention to the "news" about the post office and changes. It looks like prices are rising and the requirement for on-time deliver is being reduced. " The USPS is scaling back some of its on-time mail delivery targets for the 2025 fiscal year (Oct. 1, 2024 through Sept. 30, 2025). For instance, it aims to deliver 87 percent of first-class two-day mail and 80 percent of three-to-five-day mail on time, down from its 2024 goals of 93 percent and 90 percent, respectively. This has nothing to do with presidential orders." This came from January 7th article from AARP and confirmed in other news posting. Sad for us, but it just makes it more important to mail as soon as addresses are released. On the other side, let's just keep this swap fun, lively and a vehicle to use our stash making quilts from what is at our finger tips.

My goal for today is 12 square in a square blocks for a baby quilt. I have been putting this one off long enough. The babe is due any day now. Hoping to have the quilt finished by the weekend. Not a 2.5" square to be found in this one.

I randomized our list of screen name participants and the Winner is..... Crispy Frog! Since so many of you participated I spun the wheel again and our second winner is Log Cabin! Packages will go out in the next day or two. Congratulations swapping friends!

Congratulations gals - a present 🎁 when it’s not your bday. Gotta live it.

I have been sitting wrong while sewing this past week and my back finally cried out. Do packed up the candies until next week when we get back. Needs a good pressing before I will take photos.
