Post what Walmarts carry fabric
#251
I hope the letters/emails get to someone in their corporate offices that can make a difference in their decisions. What do you think of my letter to WalMart:
It is my understanding that you will be discontinuing your fabric departments throughout your stores. I think this is a bad decision. I go to WalMart for fabric and while I'm there I will pick up other things I want or need - paper goods, cleaners, food stuff, diapers, movies, gift cards, etc. One stop shopping for me. However, if it weren't for the fabric department I wouldn't go. I have a grocery store and pharmacy a lot closer to my home plus a Target, Meijer and KMart. I go to WalMart for my fabrics because of the prices and variety, plus the notions and supplies.
I think you are making a very bad decision and I'm not the only one who thinks so. There are many of us quilters who shop at WalMart because of the fabric department. I think we boost your sales a bit. Do you really want to lose us?
Sincerely, K. Burns

Your message should hit close to home -- which is their bottom line! I like it.

Coralville, Iowa, across from Coral Ridge Mall area. I was there just 2 weeks ago and there was plenty of fabric and all the trimmings. It seems to expand every time I'm there. This is since their remodeling 2-3 years ago. I've had quite good luck there. You do need to examine that which is placed on the sale table (like the $2.oo)stuff). I haven't been to the old one in Iowa City for quite some time, and they still carried fabrics at that time. Since I rarely go to Cedar Rapids, so I can't speak for that store.
