Well, design opportunity or catastrophic problem? I’m going with design opportunity. My fabric bled and I didn’t notice it until cutting it up under good lighting this morning. What was a bright white background is now the palest pink. That being the case, I’m going to ask you to use a matching red only and I might incorporate pale pink into the sashing. We’ll see. Ugh. And boy did the fabric shrink. I got my cuts but by the slimmest margins. Oh, boy. Hope this is the biggest goof I have this swap.

It looks like the last package will arrive today so I’m hoping to ship Saturday. Will let you know.

Spending my day hunkered down in my sewing room putting sashing on Boom blocks. It rained, sleeted, snowed and the temps dropped last night and it is generally just plain nasty outside. Businesses and of course schools are closed all over in my region from Lake Michigan to Lansing. Good day to not go for a walk or drive the car any where. Should have Boom quilt flimsy ready for a photo shoot by later today.

Accidents and oopses often make the best quilts. Go for it, Janice McC.

Oh no Janice . You have had shrinkage issues before but not this. You would think in this day and age fabric dyes would be be permanent. And this is why we pre wash!

Had to go to phoenix for DH endocrinologist appointment. Stopped off at Joann’s because I ran out of White thread!! First time ever! Then stopped at Aldi store and our favorite lunch shop. Now two hour ride home.

Thank you, Janice.
I'm sorry your fabric bled! And shrank... I hope there's no more problem with reds in your quilt.
Do you have a date yet for your surgery?

WMUT be careful in that weather. So strange but here in the South we are having a heat wave (for February). Our temps are up between 70 and 80 for the next ten days or so. We sure haven't had much winter weather this year.

Hi Mariposa, the nerve test got cancelled AGAIN (was supposed to happen today) so I switched dr.s and have it scheduled for next Tuesday. I guess some dr.s just don't like to come in to work! Thank you for asking.

Hello to all. I’m not hibernating but I do have a serious case of the flu and maybe an ear infection. And the so much fun bladder emptying cough that comes with the flu. Maybe I will be back on my feet when the fabric gets here!

Mariposa, it’s here! Woo hoo! All safe and sound with gorgeous color inside. I’ll put the packages together and get them ready for mailing on Saturday. Thank you everyone for getting your fabric in on time!

SBG, sorry the tests have been postponed again. That’s just not right.

Speaking of postponed, my surgery was pushed back to 2/19 but now there is a little issue I’ve got to look into before I have it. I have a PCP visit planned tomorrow to check it out. Nothing serious.

GramE, rest up! The flu can hit hard and it sounds like you’re getting a bit beat up by it. Happily, it won’t last forever. Drink lots of fluids. We’ll be here when you’re feeling better.

WMUTeach, I’m sorry about the loss of your friend. You have my condolences.

I’ve got four more blocks cut out but now I’ve got hours of sewing ahead of me. I didn’t start doing this until a few booms back. I’d almost always start and finish a block before going on to the next. Now I’m regretting it but I’ll run a couple of old Star Trek movies to keep me company while I stitch, stitch, stitch.

Have a pleasant evening.

Hello, Stars! I finished the baby quilt right down to the label and the final press. Yea!! The UFO Boom is about 90% done. Most of the sashing is in place. I had to deconstruct a block that had an error in it, then reconstruct. All done, along with a block #20. A bit of supper and then off to add the final sashing. I am playing around with making it larger by adding borders and then donating it to a hospice center. They would like their quilts to be 70 X 90. I will measure and ponder when I get the last sashing in place to see what can be done to expand the quilt to something closer to those measurements. I will photo both quilts tomorrow morning when the sun shines, (Fingers crossed on the sun thing.) Yes, we got our rain and sleet and all the schools were closed and a few businesses did not open until 10 or 11. I played it cool and did not even go to the mailbox. Tomorrow should be fine. Windy tonight and in the upper 20's for the next week but no snow until next weekend or so they say.

Happy quilting everyone!

GramE hurry and get better so sorry you are sick! Lots of folks sick here with the flu and colds. Thankfully it hasn’t been to our house

Sewbiz that is just plain ridiculous that the doctor cancelled on you twice, a wise decision to change doctors.

Hubby said it smelled like I was cooking fabric in my sewing room. He said he had some cleaner that would fix the soleplate of my iron. He brought it back in and said it didn’t work and he used a Drexel drill to clean it. Haven’t had a chance to check it yet but pretty sure I’ll be iron shopping in the near future.
