Also, if you have not already added the QB to your email’s safe senders list, please do:
Please take the following steps to add a contact to your safe senders list:
1. Open your email account (example: AOL, Gmail, Yahoo! or Outlook).
2. Locate your “address book” or “contacts”.
3. Add [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected] to your address book or list of contacts.
4. Save your changes.

because it went to your spam, the image(s) didn't display for you.
it was a legitimate email from QB's parent company (Internet Brands) about a give-away drawing.
they sent it twice.
i've been assured it is not the first of many. i didn't enter so can't give any information about entry rules, etc.
the contest is already over.

Legit or not I was disappointed that our trusted site was using the community as a conduit for advertising. Did not even consider the offer or open it. The delete key is a powerful tool.

all "free" sites are conduits for advertising in one way or another.
there are sites i no longer go to because they are designed to force far too much on-site advertising and junk mail down my throat.
to me, this one little email is nothing compared to the floods generated by other allegedly free sites.
and, as you pointed out, we are always free to ignore or delete any unwanted emails.

I received two email this past week with offers to win a free cruise via Quilting Board!
Didn't take a chance to open them ... only saw through the preview window.
Like the others, I was disappointed that we were receiving them ... and wondered how many more there will be in the future!!

the QB has been online for about 20 years.
two whole emails in all that time.
can we please keep things in perspective?
