Terri - I didn't realize you were so far south. Did you all have any issues from people coming over the border there?
So sorry you DD will have to deal with all of it, especially with being ill. I hope everything was in order and she knew her MIL will about burial and it was preplanned. Reminds us all to make sure all is in writing.
sun is out here so will sit on porch and let Jack help redo a block!
Hopefully all swelling and bruises and boo boos are better today

[QUOTE=Janice McC;8678952]SBG, Ooops.. how does your hand feel?.[QUOTE=Janice McC;8678930]
How does the hand feel this morning. Improvement I hope.
/LOL, I knew who you meant!
Swelling is much, much better. The hand looks almost normal again. Still not feeling my last two fingers, but that just needs more time. My elbow, where the incision is, is still very sore... but good with Advil and the OTC meds. Still haven't touched the Oxy. And I get to shower today... YAY!
Hey I was perusing the quilts for sale on Etsy, and there are some samplers that look just like our Boom quilts, going for BIG BUCKS. One of them was priced at over $1000.00. So we're making heirlooms!

Thank you to everyone who asked about my arm/hand.
Terri, so sorry about your SIL's mother passing. I hope your daughter gets well quickly.
Wow, Mission TX is almost the furthest point south in the US... maybe tied with Miami? That must be a nice warm getaway (normally) for the winter.
We have rain, rain, rain today, all day and into the night. Rain tomorrow too, then two whole glorious days of sunshine and temps in the 70s! What a treat in the middle of winter.

Glad to hear you're better today, Sewbiz.
Terri- I'm a bit confused. Both of your baggies only had one fabric each but your note said it had 2 each. Can you address this? It's probably not a big deal but I thought I'd ask. Thanks

We are in Mission Texas, just thought I would share a map of how far south we really are.
Had very sad news this morning. Our son in law’s mom went to bed last night not feeling well and quietly passed away last night. My dd was her executor not sure if she still is but she is sick with strep throat running a 103 degree fever

Thanks Lstew! I love the block! And, I made a block for you today as well. Hope it's not too busy...
The second one is a simple block for GramE. I can't believe I didn't pull the yellow out of the polka dots...since that's my favorite color. But I saw this pink moda marble and went with that.
Janice...I resized Lstew's block twice. Hope it's not too big.

Before I worked on Lstew's block, I watched a video on making flying geese. I ended up making them larger and then trimmed them down to size. That is definitely my preferred method! Every time I try to make them using the "no waste" method, they just don't look right.
Anyways, I also saw there are several specialty rulers on the market for trimming these down. I was SHOCKED when I saw one company selling one of these rulers for $64. Mind you, this little piece of plastic only worked for ONE SIZE of flying geese unit. If you made a second size, you'd need a second $64 ruler to trim it. I'm all about trying new tools..but no way do I have the budget for the rulers this company was selling!! I just used a regular ruler with the 45 degree angle line. After a minute or two to think about how that works and the best way for me to work it, I was fine...

Michelle-quilts, I use the no waste method and it works very well for me if I remember to mark and sew very carefully. I actually love making flying geese now. I’m not a fan of specialty rulers and find my regular rulers work just fine for most of the sewing I do.
Great new blocks, Lstew and MQ! I love mine. Thank you, Lstew! I think I’m going to make the 20th block for myself now.
I finished my color block quilt. Yay! The binding and I did battle but I won the war. The quilt is Not perfect but it’s done!
