Cold, gloomy and windy today, but this afternoon the sun came out and it was bright but still cold. I keep hearing next week it will be in the 50's. April is getting closer with those spring like breezes and green grass just around the corner.

Doing some e-mail scrolling and I found this pattern that could easily be converted to 2.5s. I would give it a try myself but I am up to my ears in UFOs and unfinished projects. Looks like this could gobble up lots of 2.5s if you have an abundance on hand.

Has anyone else noticed that the post office has been incredibly slow lately? Stuff that should take only 2-3 days to get here don’t come for at least a whole week? And things getting lost too. I ordered some cute Aunt Gracie fabric from the Fatquarter shop and it was sent through the mail and the package never came. They refunded me, but I think I want to avoid the post office for most packages if I can. I notice my candies are taking forever to get to their designation too.

Log Cabin-a week is frustrating but it is taking over 2 weeks for my candies to get to their destination

Yes, there is a problem with the time it is taking for envelopes and packages to arrive. Envelopes used to easily be received in 4 to 5 days. I went to my PO on this week because it was more than a week past the delivery date for a package I mailed to arrive. Yes, it was the chemo quilt I scurried around to make and mail to Indiana. As soon as I said the name where the package was "stuck" the response was that the problem has been so severe that the Post Master has been called it to solve the problem at that site. My package of Boom Block fat 8ths was more than two weeks delayed and had to pass through the same distribution center.

Thus, my continued message to send envelopes ASAP. Long delays obviously are not being experienced in all areas. We see some packages arriving quickly. I will make adjustments to the posting addresses to assure that birthdays are honored on time as much as possible.

Hang in there and alert your post office about long delayed packages. It is not the PO window personal to blame but they can pass on the discontent of the public.

I am so glad you got my package Cowboywife! Happy Birthday ahead of time! It sounds like you're enjoying your candies already and that is so fun to hear! I'm very glad you joined into the candy exchange this year! I hope the candies inspire a fun project for you.

WMUTeach, I saw the newest quilt to use for candies that you posted and all I could think of is that the individual framed sets would make great placemats!! I just might try that. Small quilt attempts to practice FMQ with and then I can eat on them. That's a great way to use up some yardage! Thank you for posting the picture. You'll get those UFOs knocked out soon, I know.

Terrific idea, ibex. I never even saw that when I was gazing at the quilt.

Cowboywife, almost all of your packages have arrived. Yea! There are still a few waiting to sneak in for your birthday celebration.

Hi all... I'm posting this because I have stopped getting email notices about your posts. Hopefully, if I post something, I will begin getting the emails again. I'm not part of the group this year but I enjoy following along.

On Valentines Day I donated a pint of blood at the Red Cross. On the drive home I passed out. I woke up with airbags surrounding me, and I was trapped in the car. Firefighters had to remove two doors to get me out, and I was sent to the emergency room by ambulance. I managed to hit three other cars and a trailer after crossing a concrete median into the wrong lane. All of the vehicles were totaled.

Miraculously, I did not have any broken bones or internal injuries, but I did have norovirus symptoms in the car before the accident that lasted a week. I'm dealing with post-traumatic vertigo and won't be able to drive again until that goes away. I'm slowly getting better, and I hope to be able to sew again soon. I'm so blessed to still be alive.
