Ok, now good morning from wet and wild WNC! The winds are howling and the rain is pouring but so far it’s just a nasty storm like we’ve had many times in the past. I hope it gets no worse. I’ve been up since 4, cooking cabbage soup and texting with a neighbor who is also wide awake. Weird start to the day. But my soup is almost done and then later it’s corned beef and cabbage for dinner. Must be a cabbage day!
Enjoy your Sunday and all of Mariposa’s blocks.

Wow, Mariposa must have her nose to the grindstone! (Just kidding) But all your blocks are beautiful, regardless of when they were made. I like the ‘big’ reveal. And hopefully next week I can get my nose to that grindstone.
There seems to always be enough cabbage for more that one delight. Enjoy your company today, Janice. I hope you get a nap in there sometime. And yes it’s raining up north too.

Good morning everyone! Lots and lots of lovely blocks being made!
I've been helping DH work on our chicken coop most of the week. Wanted to get as much done as possible with the storm coming, and figured I'd sew when we had a rain day or too. At first it was forecasted for us to start having rain on Thursday, so we worked hard Tuesday and Wednesday - and then the rain was moved to Friday, so painted on Thursday (I was painting materials before we built) and then the rain got moved to Saturday so Friday was another building day. Yesterday morning, the rain got moved to Saturday night so another day on the coop. The roof is sheathed, ready for shingles. It did finally rain overnight, and I'm going to take a sewing day off even if there is no more rain in the forecast.
I hope everyone rode out the storms OK - sure looked nasty for a larger area of the country.

Mariposa great blocks I love mine thank you. The stripe you used in Cheeseheads block really sets off her fabric.
Cheesehead was just reading some of the old posts and read about your azealas. They are going to be beautiful while in full bloom. Did you plant all the same color and how long do they bloom for in Alabama?
We bought a 20 lb. bag of the 1050 onions grown here, they are very fragrant and sweet. Hubby hasn’t figured out what to pack them in yet so everything we are bringing home doesn’t smell like an onion. Think I will make some French onion soup while it’s still cold as soon as we get back
Janice enjoy your corn beef and cabbage dinner with your friends.
Hope everyone has and is staying safe from all the storms
Macybaby sounds like you and dh are making great progress on your chicken coop.

Thank you for my Cardinal block. I can't wait to get these blocks back. Someone at Christmas will be really excited to receive this quilt.
Great blocks, fabulous.

Hope all weathered the storms safe and sound. Here in PA, we are getting very high winds and a little rain. The wind gusts are wicked. I will be busy at work tomorrow.

Wow..I've missed quite a bit this week!! Lots of lovely blocks being made...as usual.
Thanks WMUTeach for my block. That design really showcases the fabrics. And a second one from Janice...very generous!
I have been absent because I took full advantage of my Spring Break. I had a long list of things to do this past week - chores for around the house as well as catching up on my grading for school. However, I ended up not crossing any of those things off the list because I spent the time with my mom and two aunts at the beach. Mom and I originally planned to come back home Wednesday but my aunts talked us into staying until Friday. We had lots of fun and made lots of memories! So, I'll just play catch-up at work in the upcoming week.
I did find a little time today to finish up a block for Sewbizgirl. I pulled out the dark purple in the focus fabric.
