Default No disappearing blocks!

Heads up on the gallery: your blocks aren't disappearing. As the swap gets into the later stages as it is now, I rearrange the blocks by maker's board name. Be sure to look for your block aphabetically by maker. It makes it much easier to see who has done what and who still needs to make a block for someone. Yes, I do keep track and I do this each swap but this is the first time someone has commented that her blocks have disappeared. They're still there, just in a somewhat different order than you may be expecting. For example, AQ's blocks are shown first and WMUTeach's last within each owner's group.

SusieQOH, you give me hope that the recovery will be swift! Yay!

What I don't have much hope for is my poor Swoon Quilt. To say my meandering is all over the place is an understatement. It feels so awkward having something large under my needle to FMQ. I'm sure it's just practice getting the sandwich properly situated and adjusting constantly. This is why I've held off finishing so many pieces but I'm determined to overcome the problems. I suspect Swoon won't be as nice as I'd hoped but it'll be a great learning piece. That makes it worthwhile.

I noticed that the blocks were being put into alphabetical order in the gallery but didn't realize you had to make that happen Janice! I thought perhaps it was just something that was done automatically.

I take it you're feeling better today!

You mentioned that the meandering on your Swoon quilt was "all over the place". That made me chuckle. I thought that's what meandering was...LOL

I too one day hope to overcome the fear of messing something up by trying FMQ on my machine. But as you said...makes for a learning experience. That's the right attitude.

Janice trying to wrangle a large per size quilt under a small throat machine can be a real hassle. I have the 16” throat and sometimes I make up new words when I really start struggling.

Boy oh boy the season is winding down here so fast. So much going on. Just cancelled dinner with close friends for hubby’s bday when they needed to switch to tomorrow and we are already triple booked for tomorrow afternoon, late afternoon and dinner. It is going to be a big let down after our trip to Alaska.

lol, Michelle-quilts, I meant my meandering has long stitches, short stitches, stitches venturing into the wrong spaces, sharp points instead of rounded curves, you name it. Yeah, getting over the fear of “doing it wrong” is very difficult for me, and meandering a small block for QAYG, is sooooo much easier than working on a larger piece. It’s why I have so many UFOs. With this Swoon, I’ve got three colors, blue, yellow and cream/white. Instead of using one neutral all over, I’m quilting with blue in the blue, yellow in the yellow and white in the cream just so that the quilting doesn’t show my mistakes as easily. Not usual to do that but since I’m my own worst “quilting police” I’m giving myself this leeway to get it done as I choose. Having it sit since 2018 is bad enough that I’m prepared to go for it regardless of how it turns out. But I’m moving slowly. I hoped it would be done this coming weekend but there’s no chance of that happening.

At last I had a successful sewing afternoon! Two more blocks done, "Diamond in the Rough" for SusieQOH and Bonnie Hunter's "Talking Turkey" in unscrappy colors for Janice. I hope you like them. Now I need to think of something quick and easy for dinner, lol!

After all my earlier comments, I went back to the sewing machine and powered through the blue and half of the creams. I found my groove!!! I now hope it’ll be ready for binding this weekend.
