Good afternoon. Another good day with my knee. I’ve walked about 4 thousand steps with very little pain. I’ve stopped the heavy duty scrips and am just taking otc meds. Hope to get off those in another couple of days, too.

The fires are still raging but not getting any closer to us at present.

GramE, I hope you get used to the implant soon. I imagine it must be an odd sensation.

Terriamn, that’s an incredible amount of rain! Glad you didn’t have any flooding or damage.

I’m putting together a backing for another UFO. Hope to put it together next week. It’s small and will be easy to quilt.

Lovely day today. Started out with rain then slowly moved to clear skies and sunshine. I went for a walk and although I was wearing a jacket, I did not need it. We have another day or two of this then back to cold. I spend most of the day assembling my Scrappiness is Happiness quilt. All done except for adding the three final sashings. Then it will sit for a while until I can purchase a wide back.

Quilt work day tomorrow for my local quilt group. I discovered a UFO from 2023, an exchange block project while straightening up in my sewing room yesterday. . I hope to get that one put together between chatting and catching up with everyone. Then it will be layer and quilt next week. (Fingers crossed.)

Glad to know the fires are staying away, Janice. But so glad you are ready if you need to leave quickly.

We have jugs of water ready and a twin mattress we can put over us in the closet along with a lantern.
Wow, That is scary, glad you guys are safe now.

I will pray for rain for you, I have family in the charlotte and Highlands NC area. I also have a friend that works in your town.

And acclimating my back to the new battery pack that has moved in might take a while.

I’ve been hand sewing all day, well I slept til noon 🤭, and my contrary block is coming together beautifully with hand stitching. I’d give you a sneak peek but there’s not much of a block yet, just 10 of 16 pieces that are beginning to look like they belong together. I might do something crazy like ignore a normal bedtime to get some extra time in on it. I hate stopping when I’m on a roll!

My grandson sent a note today saying this time next week our great granddaughter will make her entrance. Difficult thing is they are 140 miles away in Troy, Ohio and I’m not In traveling mode yet. The best part of the electronic age, live phone calls! Elouise has been making some noise like she’s ready to move out, so the doc is planning on helping her. Been 5 years since we’ve had a new baby, so there’s lots of excitement!

Thank you all again for your prayers. I so appreciate all of you. I love my blocks and I love making blocks. This is a great group. It seems like the blocks in Boom 33 are extra special this time.

I’m so glad you are walking around without too much discomfort, Janice. ( I can walk just not bend, twist, lift or do housework. The discharge papers said so) And praying for the end of the fires. North Carolinians have had their share of traumatic events of late. Time for a season for healing.
Congrats on hearing you will have a new family member real soon. Glad you are feeling better too.

Good morning! Just checking in. I inspired myself to "neaten up" my sewing room! I can actually walk without tripping over things! *laughs* I may not remember where I've put everything, but at least you can see the floor! haha! Just finished a cute kitty bag tote. Not sure what I'll use it for, but I'm glad its done!

LC, I hope you didn’t find a lot of UFOs like I did last time I neatened up. I also “lost” a couple of items. Probably put them away where I can’t find them.

Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow. I live in hope.

Just planted a rose in a large container outside or rather DH did. Temps should be ok now. Fingers are crossed.

Enjoy your evening.

Hi everyone! (Waving!)

Two blocks done this week. One for TravelingGramma and one for Cheesehead.

Terriamn, thank you for the lovely blocks you made me! I'm loving my quilt and it's not even in my hands yet!

GramE, I hope it's not still my block that's being the contrary block!

Janice, I'm glad you are managing well with your knee! I would be nervous to walk around on it if it was me!

Logcabin82, can you neaten up my sewing area, lol! I have something like 7 projects spread out!

The humidity is going up, so I think we are going to be getting storms tonight. Hopefully nothing serious. I wish we could send you our rain, Janice!

Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to join in the next Boom. I've been struggling with fulfilling swap commitments, as much as I really want to. I want to keep making each block special and not rush through them. I know I'll miss it, but life is very full right now. Happy but busy!

Yay! Blocks! I’ll post them tomorrow. NZQ, nice ones for Cheesehead and TravelingGramma. You’re one busy woman. There will be a space for you in future Booms when you want it. My knee is stable but it just hurts a bit where the surgeon cleaned up the meniscus. I’m pleasantly surprised it’s been so smooth. I think it was SusieQ who said recovery would be easy and she was right.

Now the chances of rain tomorrow are decreasing. We really need it to put those fires out. Ugh.

Praying for rain your way tomorrow, Janice. I would think it's likely, since a big storm covering the whole South and Midwest is due tomorrow night. Hope you get rain only, and just the right amount of rain!

NZ, I hope you will be able to be a lurker/visitor in the next Boom, if you can't play. Your two latest blocks are beautiful! We'll miss you.

The blocks you made are both very pretty and cheerful. Well done!

I understand about taking a break from the BOOM swap. I might find myself in a similar situation. Hugs

Good morning. No rain yet. Boo.

I understand about taking a break from Booms. I’ve run a number of them where I didn’t participate. That’s one reason I hold them twice a year, to give people, and myself, a break. But you can pretty much count on one in the spring and one in autumn. If you sit out a boom or two, another is bound to pop up in 6 months. I’m going to be using my time in between to keep working on UFOs and not adding to the pile. lol.
