SBG, Ivy has grown so much! I love the age 6 in kiddos! So much personality!

Janice, hopefully your PT doesn't hurt too much!

I love your Boom quilt, Annaquilts!

I made two blocks this morning, one for WMUTeach and one for LStew. They are both Disappearing Hourglass, just laid out differently. So fun!

NZQ, more terrific blocks. I couldn’t see that the blocks were made with the same units until I reread your post. Neat!

Pt went well today. Actually didn’t hurt much.

Terriamn, I bet you’ve thought about unpacking just one or two bins or boxes! lol. Good on getting your walk in.

Thank you NZ for the Disappearing Hour glass block. Wow, the two blocks look so different. If you had not mentioned it, I would not have known they were the same block just arranged differently. Thank you again.

Spent my day doing odds and ends in preparation for my quilt group (not officially a guild) retreat. Bag packed with three projects. One is a UFO from 2020, other is the museum fabric pieces that were given to me that I just bubbled up to the surface in my sewing room last week. The third project is square-in-a square blocks using some of my 2.5 birthday blocks and turquoise strips found in my stash. Featherweight is oiled, extra thread, cutting blades and needles are packed. My breakfast and snack to share is ready. Oh, and my personal items are ready in their bag. So now I guess it is just the "morning of" things left to do like feed and water ZuZu for three days and take off by 8:30 am. We don't go far, but it is far enough to feel like a retreat from our every day reality.

This evening I am going to finish quilting one of the UFOs I layered on Saturday. With that finished, I will have a hand-work piece I can work on next week. Yea!

Janice so happy for your good PT report. And hearing about Ernie and the thunder is sad, but he now has a family to care for him when thunder reminds him of bad times. My ZuZu was a major scaredy cat during the wind and rain of the past few days. She goes on high alert mode with each roll of thunder or when the wind makes the roaring noise during bad weather. Eventually, she will run and hide under my bed until all is clear. Wonder if she remembers in her kitty memory the tornado of last May.

Happy quilting all and I may check in over the weekend or not depending on if I need a break from the whurrrrr of sewing machines and the zip of rotary cutters. .

Have a great retreat, WMUT! I know you will....

NZQ, love your two variations of the D4P block. I was familiar with the first one (the star) but not the second. I'll have to study it some more.

Janice, glad all went well at PT. And poor Ernie... Our Marty is a huge dog and he's terrified of any kind of rumble in the sky, hard rain, any storm. He becomes so fearful I feel like he could just pass out. Hyperventilate. Yet, any loud, low airplane overhead doesn't seem to even phase him. I haven't figured that one out yet, lol.

Change in the weather? Walking too far or too much yesterday? PT work out pushed your limit? Lots of possible explanations but back to ice or heat and meds if needed and carry on. Just a bump, all be a a painful one, in your road to walking miles and miles per day. Hang in there!

Just some aching due to pushing the knee. It underwent “trauma” from surgery as I’ve been reminded and it’s very swollen. All is normal, thank goodness. I will be soldiering on. You are sweet, WMUTeach.

Ouch Janice! It’s hard to find the right spot for strengthening the knee without over exerting it.

Our Rio shook like a leaf every time it stormed and on good ole 4 th of July. Her last couple years she was so deaf nothing faxed her.

NZ like the others have said I have never seen your second DP9 block. Very fun blocks

Have my walk in for the day, the last couple blocks my feet were moving but every step was an effort. The humidity was a killer. Sure wish that I had started walking again much earlier in the season I feel so much better. Told hubby when we get home I am going to drive into town and walk there. Much fewer hills and I can ease back into our neighborhood.

The Magnolia trees are in full bloom, their scent is heavenly and the flower itself is beautiful. The shaving bush trees were severely damaged by the freeze and most of them only have one or two of their exquisite blooms. So many different varieties of flowers here

Have a great day

Janice, are you icing your knee? That really helps with the swelling and the pain. My experience was that swelling lasted awhile.
You sound like you're doing well, yay!!

I just looked at the gallery. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
