Wow I never heard about the USPS truck WMUT. You sure were productive on your retreat, haven’t been on one in at least 5 years. You have bright back some great memories of past retreats. All the camaraderie, laughing, silly mistakes and beautiful quilts.
Today I managed to accomplish absolutely nothing, I was just a big lump on the log. Took a lovely nap, read a book and went out for dinner. That long drive sends my system into a wacky place and it takes me a few days to reset.
Had text from one of our friends. He and his wife had their annual Well Care checkup and they suggested Julie have a calcium score test. While performing the test tech saw she had a blockage. Five minutes later she was seeing a surgeon, a hour later the stent was in and she will be going home later in the evening. Amazing.

Here is a UFO that I finished while waiting for our Star blocks. It is from a fabric line called "On the Lake" and finishes at 60 X 51. This piece will likely be a donation quilt. The race is on.....how many UFOs can I finish before diving into Star Blocks? I will shoot for one and perhaps finish one top that is not a UFO. We shall see.
Looks like it needs a good press ---- oops!

Ok, the ethereal world ate my post so all you get is a picture for Anna. I post more tomorrow. I’m in trouble already for my late bedtime. We’ll try this again. It definitely needs a person to stand up and iron it! I’ll try harder tomorrow.

Lovely block GramE! Seeing all the blocks being made for Anna makes me want a Valentine quilt. But then again, seeing all the blocks made for NZQ with the tie-dyed and black makes me want to get out my dyes and get to work. And then of course there are the Christmas blocks being made and the baby quilt blocks...and the I-spy. Heck, I just want them all!!! It will be tough deciding on my next fabric to send out. I'm even trying to decide if I can handle committing to TWO sets if Janice does indeed run an August BOOM swap.
You all have been so nice and encouraging to me during my first BOOM that I'm hooked. Thank you!! And of course, I'm in awe of your talent...

WMUT your HST quilt is very pretty!
GramE great block for Anna, love the colors you chose
Michele yep you have the Boom fever. It’s so much fun joining in for 2 sets, it’s double the fun. Even when I was working full time it was two sets for me, have to admit a lot of the boom blocks are still sitting in the drawer but I am trying to keep up with the latest booms and make the blocks into quilts.
We traded our Jeep Grand Cherokee in yesterday it just wasn’t comfortable enough for the long Texas drives. Gees what a process that was. We said yes about 12:20 and didn’t walk out of there till 3:30 and that was without financing. Can’t imagine how long the people sat there that needed financing. Afterwards we went to a great little place to eat and we had their baked rigatoni. It was delicious.
Did I mention hubby has what ever I had, some kind of upper respiratory virus. He is super quiet when he’s sick, a little unnerving for me.
Today will be a good day, going to unpack all my sewing gear

Thank you for your lovely words, Michelle. I'm so glad you enjoyed your first Boom and want more. It's more than just the blocks... This is a supportive little community where we also share our lives, concerns, and the things we love. The chatting is as much fun as the block making, to me. Glad you have decided to stick around!
GramE, love your valentine block for Anna. That quilt will be sweet!
Terri, YAY for a new car. I also can't stand all the rigamarole with buying a new car. I've been through house closings that took less time than buying a car. At least you will have a more comfortable ride to and from Texas. What kind did you buy?
Wednesday was my birthday and I'm still in Memphis visiting the kids/gks. Hubby sent me beautiful roses!!
Gotta go grocery shop so I can make a lasagne dinner for the fam tonight!

Happy Birthday Sewbiz, lasagna sounds delicious. We bought a 2025 Telluride, my only concern is there are captain chairs for the second row and when you fold them down there is a large gap between the seats and I have no idea on what we can put there when car camping. We will figure out something. We had an option of only particular car that had all the options dh wanted.
My oldest dd called today and we talked for over 2 hours. She loves the job she was recruited for, only works 30 hours a week and has all the benefits of a full time person. Best yet she now has wonderful insurance in case a retina transplant surgery ever becomes a thing. We are very happy for her.
This cold thing is really hang on took another long afternoon nap.

What a lovely block GramE. Thank you, both a star and a heart.
