I think hubby and I are on the road to recovery. He is actually feeling and sounding better than me. Hope to get the house picked up this morning. To say the least it is getting very crowded in here. We still have our dining room table with 6 chairs and 4 new dining chairs are here. Table should be delivered Saturday. Too much stuff sitting around drives me crazy but it’s mostly my thins. How can that be?
Going to get my walk in soon. It’s in the 50’s but supposed to rain all afternoon and evening. That is a good thing!
Janice hope PT isn’t to rough today
Hope everyone else who is feeling under the weather is improving.
Oh did I tell you, I finally felt well enough to drive the new car and thankfully it’s a dream, so comfortable and quiet. No lumbar support in passenger seat but still feels much more comfortable than the jeep. This should make the drive to and from Texas more comfy
Trying to decide what project to work on next, possibly the second set of blocks from our last boom?
Have a productive day

Terriamn, glad you and hubby are on the mend. Things will be able to get back to normal.
I had my PT and it was tough love. The PT kneaded some muscles around my knee until I could barely stand it but my goodness, she loosened them up. And I walked about a mile and a half with strict instructions not to do any more than that. Lesson learned! I’m icing now with little Ernie as my resting buddy.
Anyone have any special plans for the weekend? Maybe get-togethers with family? It’s our youngest dgd’s third birthday and we’re going to a “trampoline park” they call it. I’m sure the children will have a grand time! I think they’ll have an egg hunt on Sunday so that might be fun to watch.
Have a pleasant rest of your day.

[QUOTE=sewbizgirl;8685539]Gotta say, the 12.5" square ruler is the BEST for measuring and squaring up our Boom blocks. Now that JoAnn's are liquidating, maybe those of us who don't have a 12.5" ruler can find one at their JoAnn's for a good price. I was in one today and they had about 6 of them. I think they were 50% off.
Wow great deal at 50%.
I try to measure mine when I first get a row that’s from side to side or top to bottom. That way if it’s gonna be short, I get the shock over with when I can make an adjustment maybe but not have to take the whole thing apart.

Good morning. A package is due in today. We’re moving along. PT again today. Knee is much better since Nicole worked on it. Yay.
I’m one who measures units continuously as I make blocks so I can catch my sewing errors. I’ve found my perfect scant 1/4 seam and try to keep to it but mistakes happen. My problem is when building a block on the diagonal, I usually don’t have exact measurements so I hold my breath until it’s put together to measure. Lately, I’ve not been disappointed.

Wow did we make a major error in judgement, we drove to the largest city by us aprox. 45 minutes away. Not realizing how many people have Good Friday off and we went to Costco. I started to have a panic attack and we headed to a quiet area and I gulped down air and calmed myself. But I learned something valuable. It’s not being in huge crowds that sets me off but when you get to the end of the aisle and everyone is pushing and going all directions around me that sends me into a panic. Then add I am pushing a cart and just about ready to run and mow everyone over it’s pretty darn scary for me.
I constantly use my rulers, have little rulers, big rulers, loc- bloc rulers. They are a huge help. Now my sister she cuts everything with the go cutting system and never measures after that.
We were going to stop at the quilt store but my nerves were frazzled and I preferred to leave. Can head up there again after our vacation.

Two days ago er were enjoying 70-80 degrees. Today we had snow at 33 degrees. Cold and damp. Enough already! The skiers are flocking up to Flagstaff and the highways are closed with accidents. I’m staying put!
Cleaned out out cabinets if VHS CDs and DVDs. Even found a few cassettes. Watched a movie and left everything in piles for DH to review. (He lives WWII movies and keeps getting more without watching)
We went into local Joann and came out empty. Fabric still at 30%. We laughed because we always said don’t buy there unless it’s at least 40% off or you’re in dire need.
Terriamn- big stores are difficult for me - too many conversations, too much to see, just too big. It is quick in and out.
Be safe this weekend with Easter and Passover celebrations, many are on the road.

Good morning, Stars. It looks to be a very warm day today, in the 80s. It’s our DGD’s third birthday party at a trampoline park. Ought to be interesting. Her current fascination is with unicorns so we bought her a little unicorn “stuffy” as she calls them. Can’t wait to see her reaction.
Terriamn, crowds have always bothered me but in tight places such as aisles in markets, I easily lose my cool. I just want out, and now. I understand your reaction. Panic attacks are awful.
Ernie goes in on Tuesday for a vet appointment. It looks like his bad eye is going to have to come out. Poor little fella is going to have to wear a cone for 6 weeks! That will seriously impinge upon his carefree lifestyle. He’s so darn small, I fear he’s really going to hate it and that’s not even considering the pain he’ll endure from the surgery. But we’re 90 percent sure it’s now necessary. We’ll know on Tuesday.
Hope everyone has a lovely holiday tomorrow if you celebrate Passover or Easter.

TG that is a real weather bounce! Michigan had 78 yesterday and to in the 50's that is bounce enough for me. At the moment it is misting fine rain, so fine it looks like smoke. It will be good for the plants, the marsh and me if I want a cold facial. Nope, I will watch from the indoors and work on a Passover cake for tomorrow's Easter dinner with family. That looks and sounds really odd doesn't it? Anyway, I found the recipe a number of years ago and it is so rich and chocolatey that just a thin slice is sufficient topped with a little dollop of strawberries. The cake is made with almond flour and no rising agent (that is the Passover part) only beaten egg whites to make it rise just a little. Oh, so good!
Happy Easter my friends. Celebrate and rejoice.

The weather has been a rollercoaster here too! One day we had hot south winds blowing and the kitchen got to 90° and I was getting cranky, telling Hubby that we HAVE to install the window AC unit in again. The next day it's 59° and no wind, and I'm reaching for a my hoodie. Crazy Kansas!
We are still trying to come up with plans on how to extend our house. I've had two contractors come up this week to go over plans on building an attached workshop/garage off the kitchen. The permits and price per square foot is almost half the price of a proper house extension. Hubby will do the electrical, since he's an electrician by trade. The plan is, once the permits and building of the garage is done, we will privately go in and finish the interior up as a dining room and living room. And then convert the current living room into a bedroom. The gymnastics of making the house bigger for us!

NZ- in my day we would build a two story house leaving the second floor unfinished. Taxes would be as if it were an attic. Over time , when financially able, we would finish the upper floor (no permits needed as it was all inside).
I believe that is what many garages become - rooms or an apartment!
Poor Ernie - and you for having to go through it.
Sun is out but still cold
