Default Christmas cardinals

I got my Christmas cardinals done for Lisa. Closer and closer I’m inching towards being done!

Those who study pain understand that there is no pain is pain standard. I can’t remember where I filed the graph but there are people who have the knee issues like Janice had/has but they feel no pain. Pain is a warning that something is wrong, so those who feel very little pain, pay in the end because their frailties are discovered but only after the have gotten to worse case scenarios. Then there are those, like us, who are more sensitive and like me they think I’m faking. They told me after the accident that my pain couldn’t be that bad I just had a bruise. Well, truth was I had a leg full of blood. But the dr accused me of wanting time off work so I was exaggerating my pain. I’d like to go see a couple of them Now.

Well, I’m down to 3 1/2 blocks left, so I better get going. I’m taking a rest break before making supper now. Thursdays are usually hamburger & onion hash because I’m frying the toppings for tomorrow’s pizzas. Friday is always homemade pizza night but I try to prep ahead as much as I can. I have a great recipe for crust, it makes two but I make breadsticks out of the second if I’m not playing pizza delivery person to the neighbors, or someone sick at church.

Gorgeous cardinal block GramE. Love the movement

Worst pain I have expierenced : 1 using the toilet the first time after Hemorrhoid surgery, last gallbladder arrack before surgery and my nemesis is low back pain. But number 1 and 2 were issues that I will never forget the pain from. Ouchhhhhhhh

Yikes,Terri! I’m not going to try and test your theory, I’ll trust your theory of it being the worst!

Oh, Terri! That must have been excruciating! Ach. Scares me to think of how much that must have hurt.

Mariposa, I’m watching your package make its moves!

I’m having a lazy afternoon. No dusting going on here. Just finished a wonderful book, The Henna Artist, and I’ve already found the second in the series on Libby and am almost 10 percent of the way in. The author is Alka Joshi and I love her writing style. If you haven’t read her, give her a try.

Hummingbird battles continue at the feeders!

Pleasant evening, Stars!

Janice, a friend of mine hangs 50 hummingbird feeders, so they won't have to fight. She's a lot more dedicated than I am...

GramE, what a pretty cardinal block! Thanks for showing it. I hope we still have a few left to show.

I've gone back to assembling some Burgoyne Surrounded blocks I have cut out. They take so long, but I want them off of my work table. Next project will be using up some of my panels and making them into charity quilts.

SBG, I have enough trouble keeping up with the 2 hummingbird feeders I already have. Fifty is a full time job! lol. I can’t wait to see your Burgoyne blocks assembled into a top.

GramE, you must be getting close. Good for you! I’ll grab your block tomorrow for the gallery.

Two more packages should arrive tomorrow and one is currently in the wind. It’ll turn up soon I hope.

Had a bit of a setback this afternoon for no apparent reason. My leg is sending shooting pains up and down with every step. Didn’t overdo, no missteps, no tweaks, no explanation. I have pt tomorrow early so I’m sure they can figure it out or at least work it out. Bah Humbug.

lstew, the Cleopatra's fan is not paper pieced. I never even thought about that. I was given the plastic templates with the instruction book for the block, but found them to not lead to accurate piecing. Frustration was reigning for weeks. I gave up when a friend loaned me her Acuquilt Go and the template. WoW! what a difference. There are little notches on the pieces, like on a garment pattern. Match those little things up and the curves are much easier. Sometimes technology is "a good thing."

I have been lazy for the past few days and not made any progress on the fan quilt. Only need to connect one more row and add the borders. Why have I delayed this for so long? Tomorrow, I have to complete it tomorrow!!.

Sorry Janice... it's a learning game to find out how much you can handle without over-exercising nor under-exercising. Be patient with yourself.

Terri, those were some painful situations you've been in. I think my worst pain ever was the needle biopsy I had to diagnose breast cancer. I hate to admit it was so horrible... but it doesn't last forever. Didn't help that it was done by a Dr. who was just learning how to do a needle biopsy!

Good morning. Rainy night last night but the air is fresh and clean.

Hav4boys, please check your email and your text message. I’ve never received your package and it appears it was never shipped. Please get in touch with me asap to let me know the status of the blocks.
