I took 3 quilts (one of them quite large!) for disaster relief auction, so I'm counting that as fabric out. WMUTeach, you're right. When you shop stash for 7 or 8 years you do start to run out of basics and I like Lena1952's comment about celebrating both big and small accomplishments. I've also been tracking how much thread I'm using. Big cone, small spool doesn't matter. In the end, I think it averages out and I'm aiming for 100 at years end.

I had hoped to use a back that was not used in a previous quilt -- but the backing was again too narrow, a bare 80" between the selvedges. So this time a note saying the measurements were put on it as it went into the "to be given away" tote.
I did buy a back -- it was on sale and I had a coupon...

👏👏👏. Everyone keep up the great work of using your fabric!
In the month of April, I used around 13 yards of batiks. Today, I finished my 8th batik top since March 1st. I figure 26 yards are in the tops. Feels good to have space in the batik drawers. Now it’s time to work with donated fat quarters supplemented by my own stash.
I went through a couple of medium sized bins of white fabrics. Most of the fabrics were smaller pieces but I did pull out some for toddler sized quilts. I had some odd sized bags and stuffed 10 of them with white fabric and will give it to my church garage sale tomorrow. So win/win because the bags were repurposed.
Then I decided to return several floral prints of yardage to my church quilter’s bins. They have had a their vacation at my house but time for them to move on. 😁
Last, but not least, Christmas fabrics and some other themed fabrics were put in 2 gallon bags and given to a different fundraiser garage sale.
I don’t know how much went out my door but I love seeing empty spaces in bins and on shelves.

Wow, retiredteacher09 - that's an impressive purge!
I finally got down to sorting out some of those fabric acquisitions from the last couple of months and discovered a bag with some partial blocks and extra pieces. A little effort and I managed to flesh out the 20 partial blocks into a small quilt top. Two yards out of boxes and bags, including the binding fabric (shown). Hopefully the quilt will get finished but I will need to figure out a backing first.

I received a donation. After sorting there's at least 3 quilt tops in it. (that's the usable part). Without trying the stash gets bigger.
I did purchase wide backs. Necessary. No appologies.
My purchased stash hasn't been touched. And I purchase very little.

My husband has been after me to get a travel mug that fits our car. He has a tendency to leave his/what we have with stuff in it and they get gross. Anyway, today I found one that I will be able to identify as mine!
It says --
I don't hoard fabric, I just shop faster than I sew.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJ28T9RX
I had some terrible fabric buying temptation this week. But I stayed strong and remain new-fabric free! I was looking at craig's list for various items and saw a quilt on a bed that was a great idea for my next stash project. Spent some time in my Tuesday sewing group working it out in my head and on graph paper. Is just columns of chevrons, I'm figuring each V is 12", separated by a 2"?? sashing, so probably 5-6 columns down the quilt. Instead of doing more of a standard chevron or braid, they alternated the prints with a consistent background. What made the particular project I saw work was they did some color movement. I think this would be awesome with greens, which I have a lot of and a project like this would make that tote close a lot easier!
Found the picture if I can get in on time. Is the 3rd picture:

I added a backing for a large quilt this month that went to the long arm quilter along with a UFO that has a back from stash!! Someone gave me the cut offs from a quilt to make into a donation quilt. Yardage? I don't know yet but to date, May 21, had minimal purchases and those went directly into quilt that will go "out the door" hopefully this month!
Success, how is everyone else doing? The group has been quiet and I hope that means you are busy stitching away or perhaps working in the yard & garden. I was at a quilt group meeting Monday morning that features a lot of show-n-tell. Many fewer quilts to show but the tell was often about gardening distractions that kept them away from their quilt making.
