2025 UFO Challenge

Quilmouse, you may not have #10 but you are making progress. That is what counts in the end. Right? Right!!
My #10 top is finished! It will go to be long armed on Monday and hopefully back in time for me to add binding by the end of the month. It needs a good press before its' photos shoot.
In the meantime I have UFO #8 on my list from 2023, that needs about an hour of quilting then binding before being added to the finished list. This weekend, I say with fingers crossed. When #'s 8 and10 is finished, that will make 7 of the 12 on my list finished. I so appreciate the motivation of this group to tackle and not just work on the UFO's but to finish them right down to the binding and label. It is not that I am so fast but I realized that those UFO's just needed a small amount of time to be finished. Why didn't just finish them. Why did I wait so long? Well who knows?

I’ve not been engaging in the #’d UFO challenge, but have been following this thread and getting so much motivation from everyone’s progress. Each time I get the itch to start something new, instead I’m digging out something old to make progress on instead. I have SO MANY WIPS/UFOs, some are old enough to feel almost like a new project again. I’ll never be a ‘one project at a time’ quilter, but I think my WIPs/UFOs did get out of hand and I’m looking forward to whittling that list down and keeping it tighter.
I second WMUTeach’s sentiments. Some things are real close to finish or are finishing up pretty quick. Why didn’t I see them through?

I have been out of communication for a few days, weather related loss of internet, but did not keep me from stitching!
I got my two quilts off to my favorite long arm quilter and dug into a bag of beautiful cut offs that were given to me by the leader of another group I am part of. I hope to turn these from someone's plans to make a quilt, their UFO, into a donation quilt. Finished by the end of the month, not likely but I will add it to my list for 2025. I can finish it this year, yes, I can!

Another Sunbonnet Sue done! This one is the second of my “40+ years in the making” UFOs, this one for my middle sister, so with purple, her favorite color, for the sashing, and cornerstones of a print with teapots.
Last, I’ll put together mine, along with working on the “secret number” for the month of June. I’m moving right along!

Oh, how I like the Sunbonnet Sue's you're using. I know, you are turning mom's orphans into loving quilts as she had planned, but they are just too cute! Your stamina is amazing. One after another after another and making them personal too. Lovely.
It looks like I may have time this long weekend to dive into another UFO. I have a quilt started long ago with my granddaughter but we never finished it. I am thinking I will finish it and surprise her for her birthday or Christmas. She was about 11 when we started it but is now 21. I am thinking that it has been aging long enough.

Quossom pretty Sun Bonnet Sue quilt. Keep working on your top WMUTEACH.
since this is VQW & it’s for 4 days, I may be able to finish sewing on binding on 3 UFOs. Then I can start 3 new projects. At least that is my plan, finish a ufo and then start a new project (and hopefully finish the project). I have the 3 new projects selected already.
I hope you all have a great Memorial Day and weekend.

Do we have a UFO "Challenge" number for June? I may have missed it. Just trying to look ahead for the month and schedule quilting time to include a UFO from my list.
Two of my list of UFO's are with the long arm quilter. A step closer to the finish line.

My goal for this month is to finish 3 oversized lap quilts I made in February. Got one on the quilt frame now, one of the 2 Drunkard's paths. Custom quilting it so will take more time but it's going great for me if I can just find the time to work on it. It's gardening season now so that takes up the morning hours for me starting with picking strawberries from 5 raised beds.
