WMUTeach, lovely blue ufo.
My progress:
January and February and April = working on blocks. (I think 1-2 of these will be completed this month).
March and May = both projects just need binding (I expect both of these will be completed).
June = 2017 temperature quilt = I decided to change my pattern, so need to rip out my work and change to the new pattern. (I expect the ripping portion will be completed).
Enjoy quilting everyone. Enjoy the lovely weather.

I would very much like to jump into this even though I'm late in doing so. I have a mountain of UFOs and I need some incentive to get to work on them. In January I counted all of them that I could find and had 47 to finish. I had lost my quilting mojo for a couple of years and I'm slowly getting it back. I did finish a UFO at the beginning of the month - clear down to the label. Hopefully I can keep going..

I have a large stack of UFOs as well. I have found it helps me to count the finishes not the how many are left. You are on a roll - one completed is great! I started with the ones that only needed a binding first. Getting those done gave my confidence a boost so I could tackle the more difficult or longer to finish projects next. I have a ways to go yet but am slowing getting them completed. You will too.😊

JaneSmith: Welcome to the UFO challenge!
I finished one UFO last week. Today, I started quilting another one. I only do straight line stitching and finished most of it today. I may experiment with decorative stitches in the center of some of the blocks instead of adding more straight lines.
I only have a few UFOs but they have been on my list for more than enough time. 😏. I recently stopped volunteering on Tuesday afternoons so my plan is to use that time to work on UFOs. 🤞 I stick to my plan.

JaneSmith, I like the suggestion by Lena. Count the finishes to feel success. I had quite a pile but over the past two years, yes, years, I have whittled down the total to less than 10, I think. Now, I try to not create any UFO's as I finish the pile. I like the process of creating the quilt top much more than the actually quilting so it is easy to create UFOs that only need quilting and a binding. Yup, straight line quilting for me particularly on donation quilts. Quick easy and over time and a kaboodle of UFO's so I have gotten pretty good at it. I also like to do random wavy lines on some quilts just because I can and again it is quick and doesn't require accuracy. So glad to have you aboard. As you can already see, you are among friends here.

How timely! I just watched a video from “Get it Done Quilts” about tackling your UFO stack; she had some great tips.

I have completed my number for June, and here it is!
This was one of my “least complete” UFO’s, consisting of nothing but the name of the pattern I planned to use (Baby Sunshine and Shadows from Tradition with a Twist) and a pile of fabric. I hadn’t made a single cut. And now, here it is, completely complete!
This one turned out so nicely, it’s going to have to go to a very special home. I’m going to let it hang around here to be admired for a while first!
Welcome to the UFO newcomers! Glad to have you here sharing in the inspiration to get ‘er done!

Thanks for the link to Karen Brown's Just Get it Done Quilts. She is organized, frank and doesn't pour on the quilt for you choosing a slightly different use of her ideas. Some of her ideas were found in this thread. Yeah us! We are smarter than we thought! Tee Hee Hee!

My project for this season is an owl quilt that was started (sort of) for Momma. She's gone--several years ago but I decided that I want to make the quilt this year. When I was looking at the owl--a LARGE owl complete one piece--with a few cutouts to make for feathers that I need to figure out how to cut from a fabric. It's the cut aways that are giving me the headache on how to make the quilt look like an owl is sitting in a tree branch. The branch is simple as I have it in my mind but the owl is not coming along as of yet.
