BD candy in the mail. Yea.
I can’t narrow it down to 1 vacation location. Before retirement we used to travel. The Black Forest in Germany was a favorite place to go sightseeing, shop and just relax. The next vacation was going on a cruise to Hawaii. My favorite place there was the volcano island where we walked on the safe portion of the ash area. We also saw the volcano erupting into sea on our way out on the cruise ship. The last place was an Alaska cruise for a week where the ship went through ice burg area for about a hour. This was kind of eerie. Reminded me of the titanic. I had watched the movie prior to leaving for this trip. The captain informed us there were 2 other ships close by if we ran into problems. This was followed by 2 weeks inland, traveling from Anchorage to Fairbanks into Canada for a week. Total, it was a 3 week vacation. All 3 places will always hold a special place in my heart. Each having their own beautiful landscapes and adventures and bringing back memories of younger days.

Happylab -- what glorious memories!
BD candy in the mail for the earliest of the July birthdays. I will be back in New Orleans tomorrow and hope to get the second July bday in the mail by Wednesday. I will be taking my pre-cut candies with me from town to town from now on! I learned my lesson. If the sign in the Brandon post office is to be believed, my first class envelope will be at its destination within three days. Let's see what happens. I was hoping they would use ticker tape as postage so that other post offices would not hold it back but the postmaster applied a stamp because she knows I LOVE stamps. Such a shame she remembered me, lol.

Good morning. I’m sitting in a hospital waiting room for my friend to be done with a routine procedure. I’m her driver. It may be hot outside but it’s frigid in here. Luckily I’m prepared. Yay!
My Favorite vacation spot is the desert in NM. We enjoy star watching, birding, light hiking and a solitude we’ve only found in the desert. As it’s terribly hot in the summer, we generally visit in the spring or autumn. Below is a pic of my favorite vista from a little resort we frequent. Those are cottonwoods along a steam which can turn into a raging river during storms and Turtle Rock in the distance.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Janice, I had a momentary giggle about you as designated drive. When I has my last colonoscopy this spring I had to have a"responsible adult" with me. The friend who drove me to and from claimed to be and adult but not responsible. We laughed about that for days. She is very responsible but cloaks herself in the mantle of being wild and crazy but she isn't at all. She is a quilter, knitter, and an advertising design professional. How crazy can she be?
I experienced the same chilling effect at church on Sunday, glad I had my light jacket with me.
Reminder .....tomorrow is the 25th of the month and thus 2.5 day. Mostly it is an opportunity to show off what ever 2.5" square project you are working on or dreaming of.

Hello everyone, I fear that the July 1st package may not arrive in time. I will be mailing things out tomorrow. This last week got away from me: between College Graduations, HS graduation coming up, a completely miserable set of parents that will not accept that they are aging and the time is coming/ has come/ is past do coming that others need to step in and help and make medical decisions for them, I simply have not gotten to the post office. I will be mailing them out tomorrow, but like I said, I highly doubt the early one will get there on time. I am so very sorry. I know one of the rules is on time or early. Positive note, Terriamn your birthday surprises may still be coming past July 1st.

Me again. Good heavens is it hot. After getting home from the hospital with my friend, I’ve pretty much stayed indoors, pulling the shades down to keep the place a little cooler. The ac is running but we raised the temp higher as requested by our electric company to reduce stress on the grid. I’m hoping the heat breaks tomorrow although it looks like it’ll happen Thursday. Ernie, our 14 yo dog, just wants to go for long walks but his little feet would burn to a crisp on the asphalt. He’s relegated to short walks in the grass and he’s none too happy.
Gee, I wish I could say I have something to show for 2.5 day but alas, no. I remain in a sewing lull but maybe tomorrow morning I could pull out some candy squares and make color blocks just for the fun of it. Who knows?
i look forward to seeing some 2.5 projects here tomorrow.
Stay cool!

Janice beautiful New Mexico picture.
Heathersmom, don’t worry, it’s fun to receive the candies even after my birthday. With mine being on the first It makes things a little more rush rush. No need to rush just enjoy the process.
Received 3 more envelopes today.
TravelingGramma
LAF 2019
and someone who forgot to put their board name on the envelope, something I also have a hard time remembering to do. But I’m wondering if it is CrispyFrog with the frog stickers 😃. It’s Judy from Texas
Thank you

Yesterday we received a day off from the ninnies. We reached 88F. We had thunderstorms over night with 1” of rain and it was cloudy most of the day. There was a nice low wind speed to help too. I loved it. Today we are back to 90’s.
My 2.5” project: I started selecting squares for the Beer Creek mystery BOM, “Nickel.” Which started this month. I selected 40 squares so far. I need 32 more squares to select. I like doing their mysteries. It’s not free, but only cost $10.00 to play. I will start sewing this July 1st. Have to finish a few other projects 1st. Another project is a QAL from 4th and main quilt store. I will be making 6.5” 9-patches using some of our 2.5” squares (this blocks will be scrappy). My other new project is doing a Barbie themed quilt. My niece asked for a Barbie quilt. So I went on line and ordered fabric, to make a reversible quilt. One side pieced (pattern from APQ) and a panel with Barbie fabric on the back. I will post pic when tops are done. That’s all for this time. Take care and happy sewing/quilting.

Here is my "Fall Junk Quilt" Five hundred 2.5's out the door and going to a homeless shelter here in town. The group requires width of fabric quilts and about 55-60 inches long. I picked a storage box of 2.5's, closed my eyes, and started grabbing and sewing them together in four patches, then sewing patches together into rows. Mindless sewing and done in about a week.
The back was donated and the batting was "frankenbatting" from left overs from other projects. I even had a box of donated thread that I used for stitching and quilting. This donation only cost me time and that I can give easily.
Since this went so well, I may just make another "Junk Quilt" of another color. It was easy and cleaned out about 3/4 of the 2.5's from one box. Only 7 more boxes to go. Tee-hee-hee!
