Thanks for the birthday package arrival updates. Enjoy the candy.

I started another 2.5 random quilt this morning at one of my volunteer groups. They like the orange/brown/yellow one so much that I pulled out my box of blues and turquoise squares and off I went. I am being a little bit more intentional this time matching light and dark together but not planning any particular lay out... just what comes to hand, random scrappy being made into 4-patches and then into rows. Random, random, random. I am not planning on a finish for 2.5 day. A good solid start will make me happy.

Thanks for notice about stamps. The two ounce is $1.01 and rises to 1.07.
Pennies count so I walked over to PO and got a supply.

I have not had a whole envelope of undersized candy.
Perhaps one slips by and thus I always send more than 50.

    Stay cool out there

Glad the choices that were sent on behalf of NZ pleased.

By the way, we will be back to the birthday addresses arriving on the 20th of the month through the end of the year. Ten more birthdays between August and September. If your birthday pops up during those months you only have 9 more to go!

Just a quick check in. Can you all believe we are over half way through the year? This one is passing very fast for me.

I’m slowly working on my candy square piecing for a small top. I’m doing some cutting to fill in some colors where I need more. I hope to get to my LQS tomorrow “just to look around”. I’m actually pretty good at window shopping and pre planning without buying. I enjoy being immersed in all the color.

Hope everyone is having a lovely summer and that you aren’t plagued by severe heat and storms. Be well.

The smoke from Canada has dissipated enough for me to go for a walk tonight but the temps are going up tomorrow. I think it is a grand conspiracy to keep us inside and our air conditioners humming.

I did work on my next 2.5 quilt top but I have lost interest in it. Boring! I need something to stimulate my brain beyond sewing 2.5's together into four patches. Guess it is time to look in another direction for a while. Humm, I just had an idea If it works I might be able too make two quilts using the four-patches and some white scraps. See, already got my brain moving.

    Happy summer stitching everyone.

Hello all, happy summer! WMUTeach did you mean 10 birthdays until the end of the year ?
I came across a pattern I really like which could use lots of candies. Star Gems by penny spool quilts. You could make this block pretty easily without the pattern, I think.
