I ordered the BabyLoc Jazz II a few weeks ago from Sewing Machine Plus to use as a backup machine for when my Janome needed a time out for repairs. It was on sale for around $800 plus you got additional feet free (they were on back order) and a walking foot (also back ordered), bobbins (which I never got) and I ordered the acrylic fitted table top. Two weeks after the machine came I got the free attachments, and two days ago the table top finally arrived. Walking foot and bobbins are coming by a slow boat from China I guess. I found a BabyLoc dealer close by and bought my own walking foot so I can quilt, but I still want the one I was suppose to get and didn't.
The machine is loud to me, and yes I have it on a cushioned pad. The 1/4" foot is for a scant seam which I don't like. I though I was getting a sepertine stitch and only got a zig zag. Actually there isn't much about the machine that I do like, but it does stitch evenly. Never again will I order a machine on line.

I am terrible at ordering online, especially from my phone. I will look at stuff online, but I want to see it physically before a big purchase.
JA-don't get me started. Good riddance.
I am disappointed that the Bernina dealer that I recently purchased my longarm from has closed her business.
True story: I ordered my cousin a password saver from Amazon after I watched her shuffle through bits of paper for a password. Sent it to my aunt's condo for security from porch pirates. What arrived was a case for the password protector! She wanted to know if that is where she is to store her bits of paper!!

I've ordered a machine twice online and both times I guess I got lucky. I basically just needed a light weight machine I could put at one end of my cutting table to attach binding to my quilts. The 1st Brother lasted a number of years but then I quit quilting for over 2 years so when I went back to add a binding, the machine would only go backwards. As I didn't pay but a couple hundred for it from Costco, I decided it wasn't worth having it fixed. I went online again and started pricing another Brother machine but I compared prices and finally ended up getting one online from Walmart of all places. So far so good plus this one is all metal supposedly and all the feet from the old machine work on this one plus it came with a case and the extended table and again I didn't pay much more than a couple hundred for it.
Of course it doesn't have automatic threading or cutting but I can live with that. It's light weight and sews like a dream. I've written down the settings I need to do my bindings so it's doing what I wanted it to do for me. When not in use, I have it covered with a tea towel due to cat hair over along side the cutting table out of the way.

I bought my Juke from a dealer, no problem at all with the machine, but found out a day after I bought it the Juki one step above what I bought was on sale for the price I paid plus had a really nice $100 bundle with it for free. I asked why I wasn't told a sale would be the next day since I asked if a sale would be on the Juki soon. I was told it wasn't a sale but a special deal.
As far as the sale price being on MSRP, I think that's standard practice. Annoying as heck, but not unusual.
You are right in saying that you have to know exactly what to ask, and how to word it. It seems like semantics, but that seems like the way of the world, unfortunately.

I recently ordered a Juki TL 18QVP from Juki Junkies (based out of Gigi's Fabric shop in FL) . None of my local dealers had one for me to try out and I read online everywhere that their customer service is amazing. And it is!
Based on what I have experienced so far with Juki Junkies and what I've read online, I expect if there is an issue that Juki Junkies will do the right thing. They are also known as Janome Junkies so if you are in the market for a Janome and considering purchasing online...I would purchase from them as well.
- Thay have a BUNCH of free youtube videos tutorials.
- They threaded the machine, wound a bobbin and set the tension before shipping it. I was literally able to start sewing within 5 minutes of taking it out of the box and oiling it. They used "good" thread for the bobbin and thread (Glide and a nice neutral color).

Would you believe some said they were sent a used machine because it was threaded? Made negative comments about it.
My dealer gave me boxed Juki from the back and never opened it. Customer service is absolutely gone from most of the local quilt shops in my area. My next Juki will be from Juki Junkies. I do order all the accessories and thread from them.

When I bought my low end Eversewn, I thought it was extremely cute that it came threaded with a little red piece of fabric showing the stitching all worked, like what my fancy Bernina shop would do after repairs.
