Sorry for any confusion, everyone. I try to make 2 blocks from every fat eighth. It's a challenge to myself. The first is always rule-compliant at 12.5 inches, using the colors requested. The bonus block may be something using a mix of my fabric (like my yellow with GramE's purple) or something I tried that didn't work out ( like Cheesehead's 9 inch block). I could have easily added my dark green or white as a border to make the bonus block meet the swap's 12.5 rule but it looked too dark to me when I tested it. She may prefer a white or red border to fit her vision. Anyway, I included plenty of the green if she wants to use it. I will try to be more explicit in later posts. Again, I apologize for any confusion.
On another note, the Christmas green that I used was printed in 2008 according to the selvage. It surely isn't my oldest fabric. Can you tell what you have in your stash?
Have a great day, everyone 😀 😊

Funny you should ask about our oldest fabrics. I still have pieces from my very first official quilt from about 2000. I ran across it the other day and laughed at myself. Should use that one up.

I just looked at your blocks and mine is not similar to the one I was thinking of. I should have checked again before posting. Am very happy you like the block and thrilled you’re finally getting your fabrics!

Funny I just saw a salvage strip from 2000 but know I have some older than that.
Not sewing as often as usual the back and shoulders are screaming. Then hubby asked me to just hold up some parts up of the shed he was assembling. Ahhh I am not 6’2” like you dear, had to find several bricks to stand on and everything went well. Sure there will be some different muscles hollering from holding things above my head.
Janice very pretty block for Cheesehead.
Cheesehead glad your package finally found you.
Made 2 blocks will post a little later. Right now I have a pretty good headache from fasting and not drinking enough clear liquids

Hi AQ, good to hear from you! We’ll have our next Boom after the New Year. If you check-in with this thread, you should see the announcement. I joined Boom 9 or 10 and have been here continuously in one capacity or another since. You’ve got me beat! Hope you are well. What are you working on?
