Janice - great finish - especially love my block! thank you. Ahh we all have those UFOs and wanna-make and and and! And also those "what was I thinking" . Two points for you to work on learning and doing your own quilting on a LA.

Great you learned how to use the longarm at the LQS, Janice. It is a faster way to quilt... depending on how detailed you want to get.
Yup, I've got the same piles of stuff waiting to be quilted. I even accidentally found a stack of Boom blocks that need to be finished. Always plenty to do!
Back to my Walkabouts today.

How pretty is that? Love it!
The large guild meeting today was good and after business, we had an hour talk by a modern quilter about his use of color. Very interesting and his quilts are stunning. Afterwards there was a new member luncheon with about 20 newbies. It was very congenial and welcoming. Later, as I was leaving I took a couple of bags of scraps from the re-home table. There was so much! I could have taken 10 bags and it wouldn’t have dented the stacks of items. I came home content.
Hope everyone has a nice evening. Any big plans for this weekend?

Weekend plans? Bible study tomorrow, dinner for friends on Friday night, Saturday...............meet me in the sewing room all day and half the night, I need to get something finished! So many starts and so many half finished projects. Do I focus on Booms, donation quilt, mystery quilt for group, exchange blocks for group, 2.5" squares project and on and on and on. All I did today was take off and then replace the binding on and old quilt. (Hospice quilt that they love but one that is getting pretty shabby.) I can add finish the new binding this weekend but need to move ahead on some other projects. May be a UFO that needs to get out the door. Oh yeah, try to schedule tickets to see Camelot on Sunday afternoon, I am tired just thinking about all of that.

Whoa! I’m going to keep my minimal plans to myself after reading this. lol. But seriously, I understand about having so many projects. I need to light a fire under my $&@ and get quilting. But I like creating new!

Janice can’t wait till you take your long arm lessons and share your likes and dislikes
GramE thank you for my block, it is lovely
I made up two backs and sending 2 boom tops off to be quilted. My sister’s son’s fiancé has quilted one top for me that turned out good, just a pantograph but looks very nice. Since my sister is here and heading North to visit her kids I decided to assemble a couple of backs and send them with her. That way I only have to worry about the package being lost in the postal system one way.

Sewbizgirl, look at Nelco’s block. All the 8 point stars are Waltzing Matilda’s. But the right coloring and a nice floral pattern make for a beautiful picture when they come together. This block looks so much different on the wall. I can’t believe it came out that bad. I will take another on Saturday. Actually physically leaving the house with a friend to do a bit of thrift shopping and have a bite of lunch.
Janice, I was just thinking today, I have too much fun creating these blocks. I don’t even understand why but I do. It is just a great sense of adventure and accomplishment at the same time.
