Error

There are many reasons you could be getting an error code 1005. I use Norton 360 and find that having the VPN turned on gives me this error code on some sites once I turn it off no problem. Have you googled error code 1005? Again there are multiple reasons you could be getting this so I would suggest you look there or since it's a new desktop contact the manufacturer and explain what is happening pretty sure they can help you.

None of the solutions I tried has helped. It’s been suggested that the problem could be corrected by the administrator of this site. To whom do I appeal for help?

As stated above Contact who made your device. You have a warranty if it is new. DON'T let them get away with telling you that someone else is needing to fix the problem. I talked to my brother (he repaired computers after serving 30 years in the Marine Corp) and he said that he cannot give an exact answer without seeing the computer BUT you need to make the manufacturer fix the problem.

Am I thinking correctly that you are only getting the error message on the quilting forum links that others post?
If you bought your computer at say, Best Buy or something like that, give the computer help desk a call.
