Terri, sorry your BIL is also on hospice care, as well as your neighbor, Janice. It’s so hard. They told us that once you put your loved one on hospice, they cannot be hospitalized again, except for the long term care facility they may already be in. No surgery can be done after that point. You have to let nature run its course. I know he’s in God’s hands.
Lstew, thank you for my block! I love the snowballs and 9 patches!

Sorry I’ve been MIA. Had some medical problems that kept me away from the board. The boom blocks and quilts are inspirational!
After I had my heart attack we had a hospitalist doctor who came and visited the house. When queried he gave me the likely scenarios of how I would die. I’ve made a lot of decisions ahead of time of what care I want. My cardiologist told me, when I can’t tolerate my meds anymore it will be downhill from there. I’ve already made decisions to not take one of the recommended class of drugs (with my husbands concurrence). And they’ve had to replace another drug with a shot I get at an infusion center. While I wouldn’t wish this on anyone , there is some comfort in being able to make these type of decisions in advance and having a family who supports you.

Here is what has been under my needle this week and a half. A newly discovered UFO. The HSTs were given to me several years ago and I stumbled upon them a couple of weeks ago. Time to get them out the door, I say. It will be donated to a local hospice center early next week. A bit bright and not my color vibe but I do like it just the same.

Mjp, good to hear from you. I’m hoping you’re on the mend. While DH and I don’t have looming medical issues, we’ve been very clear in our wishes as end of life approaches, both with family and in our medical health directives. Luckily, we’re in sync with each other as to wants and needs.

A CArrie Nation Block for WMU Teach. I always try to do one of these each boom. For some reason these blocks are challenging for me. But it’s getting to be an easier block. I am so slow at piercing. I also realize this can be a two color block. I always have trouble coming up with block patterns for that.

Pretty block. Love the rich chocolate color you used.

With our friend just passing it has really hit home to get our affairs in order and discuss everything with our kids. We currently have all our ducks in a row for our estate. BUT if we make Texas our primary residence ( financially a better decision) everything will have to be redone. Then if we get to the point we can no longer go back and forth Minnesota would be our state of choice. Decisions decisions.
GramE loved working on your block, purple is my favorite color and I do love florals

Thank you MJPEncinitas, for the block. Once again another pair of eyes to put a new twist on how to use this fabric. Thanks for giving Carrie Nation a try, again. I just might give it a try too.
