Janice hoping Ernie knew t was going to be cold and he was conserving energy.
Nelco and All2 pieces great blocks
Yeah our Janice is famous!
Had my COVID shot yesterday, injection site is a bit sore as usual but that seems to be the only side effect so far. I as a rule will only have one shot at a time but hubby chose to have his flu, COVID and pneumonia yesterday. Pharmacist point blank told him he was going to be under the weather today and just plan a quiet day. He rarely has any side effects from his immunizations, it will be interesting to see what happens. Someone telling me that would be reason not to have them all at the same time. If we were staying here I probably would choose to take my chances and not have a COVID shot but in a 55+ community when COVID hits it runs rampant.

Life has been full these past few months, and I realize I’ve been quieter than usual. A little update to explain my absence:
My husband has been walking through the challenges of a pituitary tumor, and that has taken much of my heart and focus. At the same time, I started a new job back in April managing 35 amazing people. Right now we are in the thick of budget season, and I’ve had a crash course in accounting as I now oversee accounts payable. Let me just say—budgeters and accountants see the world completely differently!
I’ve also been navigating my own health struggles with OPLL (Ossification of the Posterior Longitudinal Ligament). I had spine surgery in 2020 that made a huge difference for my cervical spine, but the condition has now progressed to my thoracic and lumbar areas. These days my fingertips are completely numb, and some days it feels like I’m walking with cement blocks tied to my feet. It’s a daily challenge, but I’m pressing forward and learning to give myself grace.
So yes, I’ve been stretched a bit thin, and I’m grateful for your patience and understanding—I haven’t forgotten you. 💙
On a brighter note, our family has some wonderful news: grandbaby #5 is due February 11! Another sweet grandson, bringing the count to 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. My heart is so full. 💙💙💙💙💖
Through it all—the hard days, the long nights, and the unexpected blessings—I hold on to the truth that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness, and His goodness continues to shine through every chapter of my life. ✝️✨

Hav, I’m glad to hear from you. I’m sorry to hear of all the health and work difficulties in your life right now. As you say, give yourself grace. Don’t forget patience and time to breathe. Hugs.
Also, I’ve received an email from SBG. She is dealing with some health problems as well and is not really able to keep in touch with us right now. She wanted me to say she loves the blocks being made for her. She’ll be in touch soon I hope.
Let’s keep Hav4boys and Sewbizgirl in our thoughts.

We never know what people are going through, do we? Grace is certainly needed. I try to remember that while navigating this world.
Janice, can I have your autograph?
Couldn't resist.
We've had a complete hellish week. I've already mentioned that. However, things could be much worse.
Terri, I had my Covid and flu last week and felt crappy the next day. Next time I won't get them together. I think it was the flu shot though. Covid shots haven't bothered me. Still glad I got them though.
Hubby got some Prednisone and it seems to be helping some for now. I hope to get sewing today.
Have a great day, everyone!

SusieQ, glad your husband is getting some relief from the meds. It’s been a bit of rough week here, despite my newfound fame. lol. Got to laugh sometimes. This afternoon I’m getting my Covid and Flu vaccines. I’ve had them at the same time before so I hope it’ll be just as easy as previous years. I had the pneumonia vaccine 6 weeks ago and it was recommended to get the RSV despite me having RSV in February. I’m considering getting it in about a month. The doc did not want me taking all three at the same time as to not overwhelm my immune system. I think that’s a good idea.

Healing thoughts for SBG and Hav4, hope each day finds you feeling better.
I have been all over Bonnie Hunter's website and have not been able to see your quilt Janice. I am not on Facebook if that is where it is located. Thank you for another great block!

Cheese, I think this is the link that has Janice's Bear Branch. https://quiltville.blogspot.com/2025...of-france.html You will have to scroll down through multiple pages but it is large photo of the quilt.and mentions that it was made by Janice.

Greeting my Rose friends: After looking at the blocks that have been made for me so far, I am thinking of using a light cream to set them together.
Sorry to here of all the health problems all of you are having. You are in my prayers for healing and comfort.
Yes Fall is here in my part of the State. No heat turned on yet but longer sleeves are the thing right now.
My Roma tomatoes are almost ready for their last harvest, means more salsa for the winter :-)
I would like to end with "The tortoise won the race" and/or "Life is to short to stuff cherry tomatoes"

I’m also sending healing thoughts to HAV and Sewbiz and anyone else who needs them
HAV wonderful news on a new grandson
Considering the noise coming from the garage it sounds like hubby is just fine. I have a quarter size inflamed bump from the shot, have to say it’s a bit more than uncomfortable but in a day or two it will be gone and all will be fine. Actually fell asleep for a 2 hour nap and boy did that feel good
WMUT thank you for the link again Janice the quilt is beautiful, You should be proud.
