TG, those two threads were wedded together. No amt of pulling would separate them . It did look funny though, 2/3 green, one third orange.

I had written out my saga of greedy grabbers at the guild…. and when I went to upload it my phone or the website bumped me off, and didn’t save my writing. So… some other time. Oh the perils of trying to post with an IPhone.

I made 3 blocks today, a mosaic block with black for WMUT’s elegant fabric, then two blocks for Janice. Janice, I made you a Round A What block since you liked the one I made for Hav. The white in those blocks looks funny in the photos, because they are lying on my black cutting mat.

SBG, love my blocks! Thank you for making me a Round A What block. It’s perfect for that touch of blue.

“Greedy Grabbers” exactly. I need to say that it wasn’t everyone by any means but enough GGs to mar the experience. I won’t be telling my friend and her hubby about that part.

Anything you can share on your Marty?

Greedy grabbers! Last night I and few friends met at a quilter's home for some greedy grabbing. But we were polite and orderly. A fellow quilter has lost nearly all of her vision and is being moved to an assisted living facility. No more quilting or crafting because she just can't see. WELL..... the four of us pawed through boxes and boxes of started projects, fabric, books, tools and all of the detritus that we accumulate as a quilter. It took about 2 minutes for us to start realizing that a little order was needed. In the end we all left with bags of what we thought we could use, sorted out lots that no one would ever use (paper templates for example) and designated boxes and bins for other groups to have a look at. We left as friends, of course, but for a moment there it could have been chaos.

BTY, I left with fabric for quilt backs, a few books and a pile of crochet snowflake patterns. Crochet is one of my favorite crafts that has been put on the shelf for 20 plus years when quilting took over. Time to get out the hooks and return to a dearly loved craft with some new to me patterns.

WMUTeach, good for you restoring order to the giveaway. Wish some of the quilters I met had such common decency. I'd enjoy seeing some of your crocheted snowflakes when you make them. I love filet crochet but my eyes aren't quite as keen as they used to be so it's considerably harder.

Off to the gallery then going on a little hike with a friend this morning. It's another test for the knees.

We are safely in Texas. Had a few surprises, hubby opened dryer and there was a load of my intimates. Luckily the elastic seemed to be ok. That is one problem with leaving the house in the arid heat, elastic cracks and gives away. A plant that was 12” when we left and hubby planned on moving to the back yard is now huge, blocking the kitchen window and spilled over where my swing sits. Now it’s too big to be moved and will need to be cut down.

I was able to surprise my sister, she was so excited!

Janice in my old guild we had a lady who received salesman samples of fabric from a relative. Unfortunately most of the ladies reacted to the free fabric the same way as your fabric grabbers.. I love the idea of the brown bags but it probably would work best with a smaller group.

Sewbiz all three of your blocks are beautiful. I like to choose one fabric from our fat eights, a fabric I wouldn’t choose and be amazed at how pretty it works up into the blocks. This time that was WMUT’s fabric. I think your word elegant describes her blocks. A great reminder to change up my fabric purchases

Good morning, Roses. Glad Terri and hubby made it safely to Texas. I’m surprised Terri’s plant could grow that much in just a few months!

Marty dog is doing much better! Yesterday was the day we were going to take him to the vet, but he was so much better we didn’t go. Still watching him like a hawk…. He finally ate a little dog food. I have been giving him his Milk Bone biscuits because that’s all he would readily eat. Today he is acting more normal but I think his bad knee has been bothering him. When he was 6 he snapped his ACL in that leg and had to have surgery so he could walk again. It’s never been totally right since then, but he’s adapted well. Thanks for asking about him.

Marty says “hi”, especially to Ernie…. He is hanging out in the garage, watching his Dad work.
His face used to be jet black.

So glad you have safely arrived, Terri. That’s such a long trip for you. I think it’s a long trip for us to Sarasota, Fla. but you start farther north and end further south. I can say it probably makes for some really happy travelers when you get there. Take a rest to recover from the road!

SBG and Terriamn, elegant fabric? Well if you see it as elegant, I will gladly accept elegant! Glad your home, Terriamn, and that your "intimates" are safe and sound.

Now, dear Marty, don't be sad about the gray muzzle. A lot of humans lose their original color and sport silver too. It is a lovely touch of color and a sign of distinction and longevity. Hope your knee gets better. Humans get grouchy knees too. Please eat your Milk Bones and some of your kibble too. Mum and Dad get worried when you don't empty your dish. Glad your out to supervise Dad's project. He likely enjoys your company and input.

Janice, I used to make crochet snowflakes by the dozen and did the local craft show circuit. Hung up my hooks when I dove into quilting but I did make a snowflake for the ornament exchange here on the QB a while back. I may just have to make a little basket of patterns, hooks and thread for some evening TV watching projects. I will post when I get some done. (Emphasis on WHEN )

Thank you, SBG, for the attractive new block, for my future quilt or perhaps quilts. Your choices are always so lovely for us. Everyone, it is such a pleasure to look at the gallery and dream of how the blocks will all fit together.
