Guild Challenge
#1
I belong to two guilds. One meets in Hemet, the other in Temecula. I just joined the Hemet guild this year, and their challenge was to make a medallion quilt with a border containing flying geese, another border containing square-in-a-square, and another border containing stars. I decided to modify a pattern I had already made - Warmth of Our Stars by Scott Flanagan - using a different background color. And for some reason I chose this bright yellow. I've been calling it my canary quilt, though my daughter says that it looks like the canary ate a goldfish. I made this entirely from stash (I had a bolt of the yellow fabric and still have a lot left) and quilted it on my Innova longarm.

I love it! And Canary Ate a Goldfish is hysterical. I've been looking at quilts with non neutral backgrounds lately and I really like them. I saw one that used a mustard colored background that I liked. I think I might like this bright yellow even better.

I did spot them - AFTER you mentioned them. MAYBE I would have noticed after having custody of the quilt for a year or so!
