Ive made multiple of those beach bums quilt. One went into a quilt that included summer block swap blocks for a friend going through chemo. The one below was for my mother to hang outside her door. When she moved to assisted living she used it to find her room. She always used to touch one of the bums before she went in. She thought it was so funny.

It’s a good pattern. I used steam a seam 2 for the raw edge applique.

Some of the blocks I used for her door hangings end up in boom quilts.

MJP, your mother’s door quilt is so much fun.

I still have a piece of the fruit bottom beauties fabric. It’s one of those “too beautiful to ever use” pieces, and now it’s OOP and rare, too, ha!

TG, love your last two Janice blocks, especially the circle of geese. It’s awesome!

It’s lovely and cool here today. Loving this beautiful Fall weather.

Mjp, love the door hanging! SBG, I looked up the fabric you referenced and I know I saw it somewhere a long time ago. So funny.

Two more blocks; modern Christmas trees. The first one is for Cheesehead. The one with circles is for LStew. Lstew’s has a two pieces of Cheeseheads fabric. I thought it would be a nice reminder for LStew. Both of these patterns I copied from Pinterest. Cheese yours was much more difficult and fiddly to get right. I switched patterns for LStew. I like them both. Hope you do too!

I have three more blocks and I’m thinking of doing patterns from the Japanese taupe quilts. We’ll see.

Ooh those fruit bottom beauties would make great mug rugs or placemats. I would have fun with those.

Tee-hee-hee! The fruit bottom beauties are a hoot! Now I know why y'all keep mentioning them. MJP, like how up put the fabric to work for the two Christmas trees. Creative.

Cold rain for the past few days and just what we need. Our mitten had fallen into the "drought" category and my poor marsh was nearly empty of water. Now it is wet again and my part of the state has moved into the moderately drought designation. I went for a walk this evening and had to wear winter gloves it was so chilly. The sun sets so early that we loose our heat quickly and I have yet to adjust to walking at 5:00 pm instead of at 8:30 pm as in the summer. The leaves are getting close to peek and the colors are lovely when the sun pops out to shine for a few minutes before hiding again behind gray mounds of clouds.

Oh my it’s 95 here and two young men have been working all day in our attic and it’s 7:30 pm. I can’t even imagine working in that heat.

MJP lovely Christmas blocks.!
