Oh, you win, Lstew! I love that martian from Bugs Bunny. Great costume!

Terri, sounds like you have some new challenges, but your hubby being so understanding and supportive is GOLD. Wishing you all the best.

We are supposed to get lots of rain tomorrow, and then sunny cooler days. I love this Fall weather.

Block for H4boys. This is the sixth attempt. I don't know what happened but i'm glad! It's called X marks the spot. The hot spot for which needs a hot pad!

Love the block for Hav, GramE. 6 tries? I bet you’re glad this one is done.

Back to retreat in a couple of hours. I realized yesterday that sitting for 6 or 7 hours was just plain uncomfortable. I had to keep getting up to walk around the way I do at home. Something has come up so I won’t be going tomorrow and honestly I’m happy about it. Don’t think I could do three straight days of it. Otherwise, it’s been fun.

Packages will be arriving tomorrow and Friday. Woo hoo!

LStew that costume is amazing! I’ll put a picture of my simple witch costume and the Day of the Dead quilts after Halloween. I modified clothes I had and made a witch hat. I followed a YouTube video, which said it would only take 30 minutes. I laughed at that. Took me about 4 hours and I wasn’t meticulous about the sewing.

I’ve included the 3 minute video I show people about the Dia de los Muertos. My four year old grand daughters are enamored with this video. I thought it might be too scary. Their mom told me they have a lot of questions about death lately. They watched that video about 10 times last time I was there.

Before I sit down for a long stretch of sewing I always do a lot of exercise. (2 hours of tennis or my cardiac rehab interval training session) then I’m ready to sit for and sew for a few hours. That’s if I’m not ready for a nap!

Janice, I was unclear. I couldn’t get the picture to load. And if this is believable, I think I wasn’t hitting the upload button. In my defense, I was using a different format than usual so the learning curve was steep!

this is the block I was trying to get to 12”. Many places had this but no one had 4 X’s on a twelve inch block. Many 6” but no 12.

i wonder how many new block patterns are discovered serendipitously on the way to something else?

Ltsew what a fabulous costume!

Finally for the first time since we arrived here the temp is below the mid to high 90’s. It’s a beautiful 73 here. We are finally able to work out in the yard and I didn’t have to jump out of bed and go immediately on my walk. On the news they were talking about the heat dome over Texas is affecting the Monarch Bufferfly migration. The heat makes them sluggish and they apparently don’t want to fly. 😢

GramE fun pepper block.

Janice glad you are having a fun retreat
