Terri, I have a Christmas cactus that belonged to my husband's grandmother and she's been gone since the 70's. I watched a Youtube video the other day that had great tips on flowering, propagation, etc. Mine has been neglected but hangs on! I want to take better care of it.

GRamE - I truly believe that blocks are made by accident. I only resize PP on my printer, and have never attempted the math of resize regular piecing. X marks the spot of the pot is great!

I give anyone credit to attend a retreat now. Especially when there are many people working and talking. Too much input for this brain. Terri - never thought of bringing a cold pack. I usually carry a ice water bottle and will have to see if it helps me next time.

Another perfect day here -

SusieQ I do almost everything wrong according to experts in taking care of my assortment of holiday cacti. But as a rule they flourish and flower beautiful. Mine are in direct sunlight, I don’t move them to a dark area ever and water more frequent than suggested. It’s just what works for me.

Lstew I have never had much luck trying to root my claves. Good luck to you!

TG a water bottle with ice should work perfect for you. That is something that might work even better for me.Sorry you experience panic attacks also.

MJP thanks for the video!

Good morning. It looks like we’re drying out after 3 or 4 inches of rain over the last few days. It was much needed so no complaints.

Today’s the final retreat day and I’m ready for it to be over. I got some sewing and cutting of scraps done. Today will be a sewing day. I’m going to leave late this morning to help a friend this afternoon. At least I won’t be packing up in the pouring rain. It’s been fun and I met some lovely women. Didn’t get nearly as much accomplished as I anticipated but I’d do it again for a couple of days. The Guild has a retreat twice a year so maybe come late spring I’ll be ready to try it again.

Packages will start coming in today and I’ll be here to receive them. Woo hoo! I’m looking forward to seeing your blocks!

GramE, I misunderstood and thought you’d reworked Hav’s block 6 times! lol.

Terriamn, I have a Christmas cactus that I finally repotted after many years. I put it outside on the porch during the summer and it got lots of new growth. Now it’s in our little office that we rarely use and it gets only natural light. It should be popping out buds soon. I live in hope.

Have a great day everyone!

Three packages are in house: Terriamn’s, TravelingGramma’s and Cheesehead’s. Woo hoo. I’ll be opening them over the weekend.

Retreat is over and my items all unpacked and put away. Now I just need to finish those projects I was working on.

Have a pleasant evening.

Ok, so I struggled to get the 12” with 4 X’s in it to no avail. Since I made mine without 4 X’s, I’ve found at least 4 patterns that use the 4 X’s as a starting point. GGGRRRRR.

Good day, Roses. Where has this morning gone already? Had coffee with a friend and then not the least of it was spent collecting five more laundry hampers worth of fabric from our friends. Five! I just about worked through everything I had and now I start all over again! lol. I certainly do have the pick of the crop of yardage, that’s for sure. I’ll take what I’ll never use to the next Guild meeting. (A lot went during retreat.). Overall, it still makes me sad though.

DH is going trick or treating with the grands this evening and I’m staying with Ernie at home. DH wanted a ghost costume using some kind of white fabric bag he acquired somewhere. He put it on, with the point of the bag on the top, cut eyeholes and arm holes in it and it looked great until we took a picture and realized he looked like he was in the KKK! Ditched it immediately! Oh, my gosh. Disaster averted!

Another package or two are due today.

Have a lovely day.
