Boom 34 Roses

OOO, good catch on the costume, Janice McC. That could have been dangerous!!
I spent the morning quilting my 2.5 Birthday Swap quilt and watching/listening to Kate on The Last Homely House. I started with the first video of this year and moving through the year. Then lunch with friends. We are all retired employees and faculty from WMU. Then off I went shopping for my daughter's 50th Birthday. I wanted something special and found a beautiful necklace. Hope she likes my choice. Going to visit her on Sunday near Indianapolis with gift in hand and lots of hugs.
Tomorrow is quilt work day for my group. I plan on finishing the exchange blocks for the group and then add the binding to the birthday swap quilt. That should set me up to quilt two of our boom swap quilts next week. Time to move them out of the pile and into the arms of some kiddos via Project Linus. No fussy quilting on these two.

WMUTeach, good for you quilting this morning. I’ll bet your daughter loves her gift.
I finished my black, white and color top this evening and want to quilt it soon so it doesn’t end up in the ufo pile of dozens. I found a nice b/w piece of yardage in my friend’s stash so I’ll use that and then a colorful binding to finish it off. I’ll see if DH can help me sandwich it tomorrow or Sunday. It’ll be a PL quilt. I wouldn’t mind doing another one soon. Worked up so quickly.
Tomorrow, DH and I are going to watch the girls while their parents are at a 5k. Their PT biz is a sponsor. They’ll be there to work and run.
I’m off. Have a good nights rest all.

Glad you figured out dh’s costume that could have caused quite a ruckus.
Applause here, going through my fabric stash at home than here I could not find a good third color for the Walkabout quilt I want to make. Went to Hobby Lobby found the perfect color when leaving the lines were long and I wandered around the back corner of the store where it was quieter. Lines went down and I checked out with no problem. Yahoo.
Today we are going to a shrimp fest about 90 minutes away. They have different vendors selling $5.00 dishes of assorted shrimp dishes and bands playing. A great way to try something different. We went 2 years ago and throughly enjoyed ourselves.
Our couple days of temps in the low 80’s are over, my they were refreshing. Last night I was able to sit outside on my swing, read and wave at folks going by in their gulf carts. So relaxing

Good morning all... I have been enjoying the gallery. Almost all of the blocks are there now. I hope the last makers don't get in a bind trying to finish. Only 20 days left until they are due in Janice's hands. That means less than 2 weeks to make, and the rest of the time left for travel. Don't be hesitant to reach out to someone if you need help finishing your commitment. I, for one, would be happy to help if needed.
More cool weather today. I'm loving it. We have been cutting firewood and will soon borrow our neighbor's splitter to split the logs. There's no shortage of firewood this year, with all the dead trees on the ground from the drought two summers ago.
Marty is doing much better. He's back to his usual self, except there's a possibility of liver disease. We are watching the signs. He may need to go in for a liver test, but not just yet. His kidneys checked out fine. This cold is hard on his arthritis, but he's in the house most of the time.
I hope we can keep chatting as a group, between swaps. It's so nice to follow what you all are up to!

Good afternoon. Just got home from seeing the grands to find our main heat, a boiler, is not working. The house was down to 64. Waiting to hear from the company to call us back and get someone out here. In the meantime, we’ve turned on the HVAC system to heat so we’re very lucky. It’s only used for AC except in emergencies and this qualifies. We’re lucky to have a backup system as the coming days are going to be cold.
it’s a gorgeous day. Might try to sneak a walk in.
Sbg gave is all a reminder about the upcoming dates for the swap. As always, if anyone is having any trouble finishing, please let me know sooner rather than later. Help is available! Just email me. The blocks are due in my hands on November 21. They’ll need to be mailed up to a week early so you’ve got about two weeks to finish.
Enjoy your weekend!

Sewbiz- I love the finished quilt you showed us! Also- very nice of you to offer to help anyone who needs it. I finished my swap but for awhile I was so busy with my husband that I started to panic! Life can throw us all curve balls at times.
Usually the quilt board is my first visit of the day. It's my happy online place!
Have a great weekend everyone! Today will decide who wins the World Series so my evening is already planned LOL. I've been a baseball fan my entire life. I watch the World Series faithfully, even though my Yankees didn't make it- again!
Janice, thanks again for all your hard work!

Good afternoon. Heating system is fixed! Spent a couple of hours sorting more fabrics and tossing out some that smelled mildewed.
MJP, how was your Halloween? Were the books well received this year?
Hav, good to hear from you. Glad you’re able to get some Boom time in today. Hope this means you and hubby are feeling better.
Don’t forget we change to Daylight Savings tonight. Set those clocks back. It’s an extra hour of early morning fabric sorting for me.
SBG, so happy to hear Marty is back to himself! Ernie sends his regards.
DH is making chicken quesadillas for dinner. My, does it smell good!
