Beautiful blocks, GramE, Hav and MJP!

Just got back from the Vanderbilt Biltmore House tour. It’s fabulous and wickedly extravagant. My goodness, so much to see. Too much! Anyone interested can look it up easily online. Christmas decorations were up and they were splendid.

We’re having an early dinner today then I’ll add your most recent blocks to the gallery.

Enjoy your evening.

Such pretty blocks are up today! I’m glad we still have some new ones left to see. Can’t wait to see what Ibex has come up with for us!

Thank you for my X block, Hav! I love it.

Great blocks MJ, GramE and HAV.

Wow did I have a scare today, hubby was standing on a step ladder and his knee went out. He hollered oh no and I looked up to see him fall off the ladder. Landing on the ceramic tile floor, hitting his head and scraped up both elbows. He is stiff and sore but ok. What a scare.

Terri, I’m glad he’s ok. I did that with a stepladder in the kitchen but I whacked my head on the corner of the dishwasher. Hubby took me to ER. He thought I was knocked out, I wasn’t sure. It did take me a bit to come to myself. ER said no concussion but 1 year later I began have weird pain in my head like someone was drilling. Turns out I did have a fracture from my meet & greet with the dishwasher and it was not quite all the way healed. So if he has any complaints, get him checked out. I guess everything doesn’t show up the first time.

I could use bit of your warmth up north here tonight. Temps in low 30’s, wind blowing. It’s stinkin cold. Gonna have to start wearing an undershirt! And once I start, it lasts til spring.

Good morning.

Terriamn, what a scare for you and hubby. I second GramE’s suggestion to keep an eye on him since he hit his head. We had a friend who fell from his feet and hit his head. He didn’t think anything was wrong. Three days later he died of a brain bleed. Watch hubby for any symptoms at all. Don’t mean to scare you but head trauma is nothing to take lightly.

Today is Ernie’s one year anniversary with us. Yay, Ernie! What a joy he’s been.

Hope everyone has a grand day.

I have seen a number of videos about the Biltmore House and Gardens, one particular on was after Helene and all the damage and clean up that was required to get the site back to welcome tourists for the holiday season. It seemed to be important for local economy because it brings in so much $$$. Anyway, the holiday decor is opulent, over the top and the stuff of dream and post cards. Should I ever travel that way, I am sure it would be on my list of sites to see whether at the holidays or to see the gardens in the warmer months. I assume it is relatively close by to you.

Wondering if you found any quilting inspiration at the home? Floors, wallpaper or maybe actual quilts?

Thanks for the advice I will keep a close eye on him. Of course he said he is just fine. But he is pretty good at going to the doctor if need be.

I am feeling much better today, my tongue has been busy playing with the stitches in my mouth and the bruising has started. I should look very pretty tomorrow serving at the fish fry.

A beautiful refreshing 65 here this morning with lots of sunshine. Wonderful weather is always a real plus.

Just finished packing up the car for our return trip to the "Frozen Tundra" of Wisconsin. We will leave tomorrow morning and arrive early afternoon on Saturday. Late Saturday afternoon, the snow is supposed to begin, and we may receive 1 1/2 inches of snow when it is finished on Sunday, ugh! Will surely be a shock to our systems.

Today I turned in two Quilt of Valor flimsies to our group here. I picked out another kit to make and can make that during my time in Wisconsin. I haven't met any of the quilters that are also making quilts frome these kits, but the ladies that are in charge of this group are fantastic.

Oh my gosh Terri, getting an implant sounds really painful. Hope your bruising is minimal this time. I agree with the rest, keep a watchful eye on your DH, so many things can arise in the days to come.

The Vanderbilt mansion is on my bucket list, I would love to see it at Christmastime. Back home, the Pabst mansion will have it's Christmas tours coming up soon. It is also beautiful to see but not nearly as grand as Biltmore.
