I put together the Halloween blocks from Boom 33. This is a Christmas gift for my co-worker. She loves Halloween. I didn't realize I put two of the same blocks side by side until it was sewn together. I surely did not lay them out that way.

Cold and blowing here. So glad there is no snow in the air because the flakes would HURT when the pointy little beauties hit my face with the wind is so strong. Goodness, I am not used to this. Good reason to stay in and tackle sewing tasks.. I am working on a Guild Challenge for AQS so I can't say more but I am learning to stitch small blocks. When I get done cutting the wee bitty pieces or my challenge, I can start cutting 2.5" squares for next year's birthday swap. Someone gave me a large shoe full of 2.5" strips. I will start with those and add some of my own to make an appropriate collection of sweet candy squares.
My Christmas fruit cake was delivered today!! Oh, yum! I will not open the box or the tin it comes in for a while because once open the cake seems to jump onto a plate and into my mouth faster than ..... well really fast.

Love your Halloween quilt, Lstew! I see my block. It's the eyeball trying to escape...
WMUT, you have admirable self-control, where that fruitcake is concerned. Bravo!
I took Marty to the vet today and he's got really bad arthritis in one hip. Arthritis all over. The vet says he's in pain. Also huge lipomas. The vet has been trying to get me to do a liver test on Marty for a while, but I have held out because it's pricey. But I
have scheduled it for Thursday. The vet thinks he has liver disease. He has to be fasted all day tomorrow and tomorrow night, then on Thursday they give him a fatty meal (at the vet's) and do blood draws every two hours to see how well his liver is working. The outcome of the test will let the doc know how to treat Marty for his other ailments. And he will probably go on a special diet for liver failure after that. Pricey special diet, that is. But Marty is worth it! Thanks for your prayers for Marty.

Good morning, Roses.
SBG, poor little Marty. He’s going to be quite the unhappy pup come fasting time. At least you should get answers. Ernie’s got a couple of lipomas, too, but they don’t bother him. Guess it comes with old age. Will keep Marty in my thoughts.
GramE and Hav, lovely new blocks. I’ll post them to the gallery later today. GramE, we didn’t go out to see the Lights. Oddly enough, they were supposed to be visible here too but I slept right through the night. Was lucky enough to see them in Alaska years ago. Stunning.
Today’s a full day. Got to clean out the spare room as the grands are coming Friday night. I’ve still got acres of yardage in there. Time to finish putting it all in order. Also, I’m having lunch with my women’s group and the fridge is empty so there’s a grocery store run before lunch. Better get moving.
Have a pleasant day.
